" We have been owed salaries for the past 3 months, which has greatly affected our daily life. However, the center's leaders promised that everything will be resolved neatly in April ," a national athlete currently training at the Hanoi Sports Training and Competition Center told VTC News.

Another football athlete said: " Our salaries are not high, and not receiving money for 3 months has caused many difficulties for the team. We just hope that everything will be resolved as quickly as possible ."

Many athletes at the Hanoi Sports Training and Competition Center are owed wages.

Many athletes at the Hanoi Sports Training and Competition Center are owed wages.

Recently, athletes from many sports of the Hanoi Sports Training and Competition Center have not received their salaries and nutritional allowances as prescribed. As of March 20, this amount has still not been paid to them.

The Hanoi I and Hanoi II women's football teams are also under the management of the Hanoi Sports Training and Competition Center and the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports. The players are owed many salaries and food expenses.

Female players have an additional income from social sources, but not too large. This income comes when the team participates in training, prepares for tournaments and is paid directly by sponsors.

The amount owed by each department varies in the bonus section, depending on the performance achieved.

In many other sports, athletes' income depends on the budget. Therefore, when salaries and food expenses are delayed, they immediately fall into difficulty.

VTC News reporters directly contacted Mr. Dang Xuan Huong - Deputy Director of Hanoi Sports Training and Competition Center but have not received any response. Mr. Huong was assigned to be in charge of work at the center until a new decision on personnel matters is made.

In Decree 152/2018/ND-CP issued by the Government on November 7, 2018 (Regulating a number of regimes for coaches and athletes during training and competition periods), the salary that athletes of national teams, provinces and centrally run cities receive is 180,000 VND/person/day.

Salary of youth team athletes of industries, provinces and centrally run cities is 75,000 VND/person/day. Salary of gifted team athletes of industries, provinces and centrally run cities is 55,000 VND/person/day.

According to the Circular detailing the special nutritional regime for coaches and high-performance athletes issued by the Ministry of Finance on October 26, 2020, the nutritional regime for athletes of provincial and industry teams is 240,000 VND/person/day, and for young athletes of provincial and industry teams is 200,000 VND/person/day.
