45 traffic jam locations expected to be cleared on the evening of October 7

According to a report by the Vietnam Road Administration, as of the afternoon of October 7, 2025, on the national highway and expressway system under its management, damage caused by storm No. 11 caused traffic congestion at 45 locations.

Localities with the most traffic jams, such as Hanoi, have 19 flooded locations, expected to reopen to traffic by 8:00 p.m. on October 7, 2025. Cao Bang province has 25 flooded and collapsed embankments, expected to reopen to traffic by 9:00 p.m. on October 7, 2025.

In addition, in Lao Cai province, there is 1 location, expected to reopen to traffic by 6:00 p.m. on October 7, 2025. In Lang Son province, there is also 1 location with traffic congestion, expected to reopen to traffic by 7:00 p.m. on October 7, 2025.

At flooded and landslide areas, the Road Management Areas and the Department of Construction have directed contractors to conduct regular maintenance, place warning signs and arrange 24/7 traffic controllers.

Previously, storm No. 10 and the accompanying floods had severely affected the road infrastructure system. According to preliminary statistics, the total estimated damage was about VND982.83 billion.

Specifically, the national highway and expressway system managed by the Ministry of Construction suffered a loss of about VND78.72 billion (8%). Provincial roads and national highways managed by localities suffered a loss of about VND904.11 billion (92%).

Regarding localities, Thanh Hoa province suffered the most damage, with an estimated total value of 600 billion VND, including 310 billion VND on decentralized national highways and 290 billion VND on provincial roads.
