Happy moments of TH School students.
“Let us build TH School with the heart and soul of a mother, with the transmission of the world's advancededucation and the quintessence of Vietnamese studies”, Labor Hero Thai Huong, founder of TH School.
It was not just a statement, but the starting point for a journey filled with love and responsibility of Labor Hero Thai Huong towards future generations.
From that aspiration, a school named TH School was born - not only a home for studious souls, but also a place to nurture true happiness, where each student grows up in love, understanding and joy of learning. There, education is not only about acquiring knowledge, but also a journey to help each child shape life values, cultivate ideals and fully mature both in soul and mind.
To realize that philosophy with a specific model, TH School has pioneered the application of the comprehensive SPIRE model developed by Dr. Tal Ben-Shahar (Harvard University), including 5 elements: Spiritual, Physical, Intellectual, Relational and Emotional.
This is not only the guiding principle for all educational activities of TH School, but also a declaration that: happiness in education is not the final reward but the journey that students live every day.
Spiritual – Spiritual
At the TH School Vinh Graduation Ceremony (May 31, 2025), Labor Hero Thai Huong, founder of TH School, named one of the most profound aspects of happiness: "It is spiritual happiness when searching for the right meaning and purpose of life, having the opportunity to affirm one's own value".
In the SPIRE model, the “Spiritual” element does not stop at positive emotions or inspirational things, but also focuses on helping students live with goals, understand what they pursue and act according to the values they believe in.
At TH School, that journey begins right from the classroom: every lesson, extracurricular activity or debate helps students understand themselves and orient their ideals in life. They are empowered to make choices, from personal projects to career orientation, and are recognized as “educational subjects” with their own journey, not imposed by any stereotype.
As Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son emphasized at the Happiness in Education Conference (November 2024): “Learners’ happiness begins with them knowing how to create and feel happiness in the learning process itself. If during the learning process they realize the joy and happiness of learning, they will be able to do great things.”
Physical – Physical
A happy education cannot lack the cultivation of the fundamental element of a person - a healthy body. At TH School, taking care of students' physical health is not just about teaching physical education or organizing sports , but it is an ecosystem that nurtures comprehensive health, from exercise, nutrition to disciplined lifestyle.
With the international boarding program at TH School system, students are trained in scientific living habits: getting enough sleep, exercising regularly, taking care of themselves and knowing how to listen to their bodies. Meanwhile, the school nutrition regimen at TH School is specifically designed according to the physical condition and age of Vietnamese students, ensuring balance and sustainable physical development.
Boarding meals for TH School students are specifically designed according to the physical condition and age of Vietnamese students.
The school also proactively limits the time spent using electronic devices and integrates digital safety education, helping students maintain mental and physical health and focus on learning.
According to Ms. Do Minh Thuy, dormitory manager of TH School Hoa Lac: “The dormitory has a clear operating schedule and aims to support students' comprehensive development. Students can play sports in the afternoon, participate in extracurricular activities and learn to cook on weekends. In the evening, they study together in their own classrooms, with the support of teachers. Electronic devices are strictly managed, with students having 45 minutes each day to use their mobile phones to call friends and relatives. Computers are used during class time and must be returned to the dormitory management board by 10 p.m. at the latest, before bedtime.”
Intellectual – Intelligence
At TH School, learning is not a race for grades. The school encourages students to ask questions instead of just answering, to debate instead of accepting, to explore instead of memorizing. The Intellectual element in the SPIRE model refers not only to academic intelligence, but also to the ability to learn for life, the skill that global citizens need most in the 21st century.
The curriculum at TH School is designed according to international standards, combined with the essence of Vietnamese studies, creating a deep - broad - open knowledge foundation. Students learn through projects, presenting personal arguments, working in groups and applying knowledge to practice instead of rote learning or studying for exams.
Many students have won scholarships to prestigious universities thanks to their independent thinking, excellent academic ability and multi-dimensional understanding. This is the result of a school environment that is not stressful, but challenging and inspiring.
Relational – Relationship
In the SPIRE model, the Relational element asks the question: “Do you feel connected, loved, and belong?”
At TH School, each student is nurtured in an open and emotional community, where friendship, teacher-student relationships and even relationships with themselves are nurtured every day. They learn to listen, care, and live in harmony without losing their individuality in a multi-ethnic, multi-lingual but empathetic environment with a student community from nearly 30 countries.
Nguyen Hanh An, a student of class 12H, TH school Hoa Lac, was once a shy 13-year-old girl entering boarding school life. Standing on the stage of the Graduation Ceremony, she recounted those years with all her emotions: “I missed home and was afraid of being alone, but here I always had the companionship of teachers and friends... the years in the dormitory will always be beautiful memories and help me learn to be more independent, caring, and sociable with everyone.”
These are the quiet but strong bonds where each student grows up in the connection and support of the community.
Emotional – Emotions
“Emotions are part of who we are, and they don’t need to be denied or rejected. Acknowledging your emotions and understanding what’s going on with you is the first step to healthy emotional regulation,” says Dr. Tal Ben-Shahar, founder of the SPIRE model, when talking about happiness in education.
At TH School, this viewpoint does not stop at theory, but becomes the motto for organizing educational activities. Emotions are seen as an indispensable part of the process of growing up. Students are encouraged to express their emotions, know how to say thank you, apologize, admit their mistakes and forgive. From “Mindfulness” lessons to individual counseling sessions and group activities, the school creates conditions for students to listen to themselves and each other.
That is why during the graduation ceremony, many tears were shed because of gratitude, emotion and the feeling that they had truly lived their youth here to the fullest. Because throughout that journey, they learned the most important thing: to be themselves.
Join hands to create a happy future generation
Happy education is not a slogan. For TH School, it is a serious and consistent journey, where every day at school is a day of comprehensive growth: physical care, intelligence awakened, spirit nurtured, emotions understood and relationships built with kindness.
TH School – a school where each student is physically cared for, intellectually awakened, spiritually nurtured, and emotionally understood.
More than a model, SPIRE reflects the consistent belief in TH School's educational philosophy: to build a strong, prosperous, happy country - starting with children who are nurtured with both happiness and knowledge, rich in emotions and compassion, and strong in thinking, courage and desire to serve. These are people who carry within them a loving heart and a mind ready to contribute to spreading good values to the community and to the world.
At the TH School Vinh Graduation Ceremony, founder and Labor Hero Thai Huong quoted the spirit of the article “The Future for the Rising Generation” by General Secretary To Lam, she emphasized: “I always believe that a happy education will create happy people. And those people will be the “golden generation” - carrying within them the desire to serve and a solid foundation to be ready to build a strong and powerful Vietnam.”
That is the heart of the SPIRE model. And from that heart, TH School wishes to contribute to nurturing a future generation of bravery, humanity, people who know how to live kindly, know how to live happily, to together continue writing the future of a Vietnam that is growing strongly.”
Established in 2016 by Founder – Labor Hero Thai Huong, TH School has the mission of creating an integrated education model, combining the quintessence of international education with traditional Vietnamese values. With the motto of “Creating true happiness for students, creating a golden human resource of international standards for a strong Vietnam”, TH School focuses on comprehensive development of academics, skills and emotions for students. After 9 years of development, TH School has 3 campuses in Chua Boc, Hoa Lac (Hanoi) and Vinh City, welcoming students from nearly 30 countries. From 2025, TH School's Chua Boc and Hoa Lac campuses will meet international accreditation standards from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACS WASC), for all levels from kindergarten to grade 12, giving students an advantage when studying and working globally. Scholarships for the 2025-2026 school year: TH School offers a scholarship program from 10% to 70% at Vinh campus and up to 100% at Hoa Lac campus. Students participate in a logical thinking test, write an essay, interview with the Principal and present a video on a favorite topic (all in English). The scholarship aims to provide young talents with the opportunity to study in an advanced educational environment, while reducing the financial burden on parents. |
