The duathlon event taking place in Kep (Cambodia) is the event that the Vietnamese duathlon team places all their hopes on Pham Tien San. In this event, he and his competitors will compete as follows: start by running 10 km, cycle 40 km, then continue running 5 km to the finish line.
This is one of the most difficult sports , but "iron man" Pham Tien San did not hesitate to pursue it. Originally a professional athlete in long-distance running, Pham Tien San was runner-up three times in the 3000m obstacle course at the SEA Games in 2013, 2015, 2017. After that, he "upgraded" his challenge with the biathlon and the result after months of training was a gold medal at the 31st SEA Games last year.
Pham Tien San won the gold medal at SEA Games 31
To prepare for the 32nd SEA Games, Pham Tien San said he went to train in many places with different terrains from Da Lat, Phan Thiet to Kien Giang , near Kep (Cambodia).
Pham Tien San's goal is to defend his gold medal, however, he does not put too much emphasis on achievements but is determined to compete with a relaxed mood, conquering his own limits.
Pham Tien San and his teammate Ha Van Nhat will start competing at 6:30 this morning. Then at 8:30, the women's duathlon event will take place with the participation of two Vietnamese athletes, Nguyen Thi Phuong Trinh and Nguyen Thi Thuy Van.
