Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh directed to urgently deploy Can Gio International Transit Port.

On the morning of June 22, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a meeting on the implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses, a meeting on important national projects, key projects in the transport sector, and a conference on promoting disbursement of public investment capital in 2025.

This "3 in 1" conference was held directly at the Government Headquarters, online with 63 provinces and central cities. Attending the meeting were Politburo members: Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien; Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen; Deputy Prime Ministers: Tran Hong Ha, Bui Thanh Son, Ho Duc Phoc; Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies; leaders of ministries, branches, central agencies; leaders of provinces and centrally run cities and leaders of corporations, enterprises, and banks.

The Prime Minister stated that in 2025, we will set an economic growth target of 8% or more, creating momentum, creating momentum, and creating momentum for double-digit growth in the following years, achieving two 100-year development goals, so there is a lot of work to be done.

The Prime Minister hopes that local leaders who have made a strong determination will make even greater efforts; must review work, strengthen decentralization, promote regular tasks, and queue while running.

Perspective of Can Gio international transit port

The Prime Minister emphasized that ministries, branches and localities need to make efforts and be determined to complete all goals and tasks in all areas in 2025 as set out in the Resolution of the 13th National Congress.

In that spirit, in the field of transport infrastructure, the Prime Minister requested Ho Chi Minh City to urgently implement the Can Gio international transit port project. During the implementation of the project, if there are any problems or difficulties, they must be promptly reported to the competent authorities and the Government for timely resolution.

The Can Gio international transit port project has been approved by the Prime Minister for investment policy since January 16, 2025.

The objective of the Project is to build and develop Can Gio international transit port, including services related to the exploitation of seaport container ports and other services. Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee identifies specific products and services to ensure the efficiency of Can Gio international transit port.

Can Gio International Transit Port is expected to promote socio-economic development and create new development space for localities, regions and the country; be one of the important growth drivers to promote economic growth; promote production, business, create jobs and livelihoods for people, contributing to ensuring social security.

The Prime Minister affirmed: "The Party has directed, the Government has agreed, the National Assembly has agreed, the people have supported, the Fatherland has expected, so we only need to discuss action, not retreat."
