Coming to FIA Asia 2025, updating international trends and standards

The FIA Asia 2025 conference brings together nearly 900 delegates from over 30 countries, focusing on hot topics such as artificial intelligence (AI) in risk detection, trading automation, new legal frameworks and innovative derivatives products. This is an opportunity for regional exchanges to share experiences, observe international standards and update trends to improve risk management capacity.

In the context of the highly volatile derivatives market in the Asia- Pacific region, a strong clearing house (CCP) system has become a key factor to ensure safety and investor confidence. FIA Asia 2025 devoted many sessions to discussing how clearing houses can adapt to market fluctuations, manage margin risk, extend trading hours and ensure transparency in all transactions. One of the highlights was the new regulation of the US government bond market, when CCPs became an indispensable part of most cash and repo transactions. These changes directly impacted market operations, partnerships and order processing in the region. Experts at the conference analyzed the impact, shared experiences and proposed strategies to improve resilience to cyber risks.

As the sole representative of Vietnam, MXV attended the discussion sessions to acknowledge international standards, update risk management trends and advanced technology, thereby improving the capacity to operate the clearing system according to global standards. This presence strengthens MXV's position as a strategic bridge, contributing to increasing the confidence of domestic and international investors in the Vietnamese derivatives market.

Advanced technology enhances the capacity and standards of the Vietnamese market

While clearing and settlement systems are the foundation, technology is the driving force for exchanges to adapt quickly and innovate. FIA Asia 2025 devotes much space to discussing how AI, blockchain, automation and other advanced technologies are transforming the derivatives industry. These technologies help improve operational efficiency, reduce costs and create new products, but also pose challenges in terms of risk management, regulatory compliance and data security.

During the discussion sessions, MXV learned how to apply AI in post-trade processes, system transparency, data management and cybersecurity. This knowledge helps MXV improve its capacity to operate the Vietnamese market, while ensuring that derivative products and services meet international standards. In addition to technology, the conference also analyzed non-traditional derivative products, such as Perpetual Contracts and cryptocurrency-related products. This is an opportunity for MXV to record trends, assess potential risks and seize development opportunities, helping Vietnamese investors access modern risk management tools and international products, thereby integrating the domestic market deeper into the global value chain.

Asia- Pacific is currently facing unprecedented challenges: geopolitical volatility, economic difficulties, trade fluctuations and policies of major countries. In this context, exchanges realize that to survive and develop sustainably, it is necessary not only to manage current risks but also to proactively adapt to major changes and shape long-term strategies.

By perfecting the clearing system, applying advanced technology and participating in FIA Asia 2025, MXV strengthens its operational capacity, raises market standards and expands its integration into the global value chain. This presence helps MXV learn and update international trends while affirming the Vietnamese voice in the standards and trends of the regional derivatives market, demonstrating its competitiveness and leading position in the region.

With a solid foundation, advanced technology and strategic thinking, MXV proves that the Vietnamese derivatives market can fully integrate deeply, develop sustainably and become a bright spot on the global derivatives map, opening up vast opportunities for domestic investors and businesses.
