At 8:00 a.m. on April 24, Ky Hoa Primary and Secondary School received 693 boxes of Nestle Milo milk from Truong Doan Company Limited. Upon inspection, the milk had two expiration dates. One type expires in July 2023 and the other type expires in November 2023.
At 9:30 a.m. the same day, 6 students of class 3C showed symptoms of nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. The school took them to the commune health station for monitoring and intravenous fluids. At 12:00 p.m. the same day, the 6 students were allowed to go home for monitoring.
Regarding the incident, Mr. Phan Van Tuan, Principal of Ky Hoa Primary and Secondary School, said that 5 students had gone to school, while 1 student had an underlying illness so he asked for more time off for treatment.
"The milk donation company coordinated with the school to go directly to the commune health station to monitor, support, and encourage the students, and at the same time take samples for testing to find the cause," said Mr. Tuan.
