According to the most recent financial report from the Harvard University endowment (headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA), the endowment they received in fiscal year 2023 was 50.7 billion USD, more than the GDP of more than 120 countries and continued to be the richest school among American universities.

Previously, in 2022, the school earned $50.9 billion and in 2021, it earned $53.2 billion, according to the National Center for Education Statistics.

Like many other universities, Harvard builds its endowment through two avenues: donations and investment returns.

From the funding, the school pays for activities and financial support for students.

In its most recent financial report, Harvard President Claudine Gay said the school spends more than $850 million a year in financial aid for students. Students from families with annual incomes under $85,000 are fully funded by the school.

Such assistance would certainly be needed for low-income families, as tuition and fees for the current school year stand at $79,450.

For comparison, the cost of attending Harvard in 1975 was about $5,350 (about $30,000 today), according to Business Insider . This shows that Harvard's tuition has increased much faster than inflation.

And it's not just Harvard, at many schools, tuition has increased faster than inflation.

Russia bans QR codes on outdoor billboards to prevent fake news

The Department of Communications and Advertising of the city of Moscow (Russia) officially issued a ban on the use of QR codes in outdoor advertising due to the risk of violating the law in the context of increasing hacker attacks.

The reason is that publicizing QR codes can create opportunities to spread content containing information that violates the Advertising Law. This issue is especially urgent in the context of Russia's information and communication systems being constantly attacked by hackers.

Previously, on December 6, posters with political content appeared in the cities of Moscow, St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk, with QR codes leading directly to websites with inappropriate content.
