With the theme: “Application of Science and Technology in Life, Society and Community Health Care”, the Conference acknowledged and promoted the results of scientific research and application deployment to serve socio-economic life and community health care; gathered and developed the scientific intellectual team of the Vietnam Association of Women Intellectuals, enhancing the role of female intellectuals in the new stage of development and international integration.
Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Prof. Dr. Le Thi Hop - President of the Vietnam Association of Women Intellectuals shared: Women intellectuals are a powerful force in the Vietnamese intellectual community, truly playing an important role, position and contribution to the development of the country. After more than 10 years of establishment, the Vietnam Association of Women Intellectuals has become a common home for more than 5,000 members across the country. Most of the members have been undertaking many key tasks in science and technology at universities, research institutes and management tasks at all levels. Many members have received the Kovalevskaia Prize, the Vietnam Women's Prize and other national and international Science and Technology Awards and many other noble honors.
Prof. Dr. Le Thi Hop said that one of the six core tasks of the Vietnam Association of Women Intellectuals is to enhance the role of female intellectuals in scientific research and application of science and technology, contributing to the socio-economic development of the country. Since its establishment, the Vietnam Association of Women Intellectuals has played a good role in connecting and encouraging female intellectuals to actively participate in research and application of science in socio-economic development.
In response to the conference, 60 scientific reports on 3 topics were sent to the conference. Of which, 17 reports were on the topic "The role of social sciences and humanities in life - society", 27 reports were on the topic "Environment, agriculture and sustainable development", and 16 reports were on the topic "Medicine, nutrition in community health care".
According to Prof. Dr. Le Mai Huong - Vice President of the Association, the scientific reports of female scientists were carefully prepared, serious, enthusiastic, with rich and diverse content and from many research fields of social life, reflecting and proposing effective solutions, aiming to apply science to social life, especially community health care.
At the plenary session of the Conference, female scientists shared 4 typical scientific reports with high scientific content, including: Associate Professor, Dr. Ngo Thi Phuong Lan - President of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City with the topic "Building a team of female intellectuals in the spirit of Resolution 27 of the 10th Central Committee: Current situation and issues raised"; Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Lang, Association of Women Intellectuals of the Mekong Delta with the topic: "Establishing salt gene linkage on rice plants in the context of climate change"; Dr. Pham Thi My - Permanent Vice President of the Association of Women Intellectuals of Vietnam with the topic "The role of Social Sciences and Humanities with the environment"; Associate Professor, Dr. Truong Tuyet Mai, Deputy Director of the Institute of Nutrition, with the topic "Nutrition care status and its solution for Vietnamese elderly".
At the Conference, the Vietnam Association of Intellectuals announced the Decision to Award Certificates of Merit to 62 young female intellectuals, under 40 years old, with outstanding achievements in scientific research in 2022-2023, including 4 Associate Professors, 56 Doctors and 2 Masters.
Sharing her expectations for Vietnamese female intellectuals, Ms. Ton Nu Ngoc Hanh - Vice President of the Vietnam Women's Union suggested that the Vietnam Women's Intellectuals Association will continue to innovate, create, develop the organization to become stronger, gather and promote the potential of female intellectuals, contributing to the development of Vietnamese women and the scientific development of the country. In particular, continue to improve the quality of research, perform well the role of mobilizing society to implement gender equality, through proactively advising and proposing policies to narrow the gender gap. In addition, promote the pioneering and core role in research work, supplementing theories on women, women's work and gender equality to build a theoretical framework for the sustainable development of the Vietnam Women's Union.
In particular, Ms. Ton Nu Ngoc Hanh emphasized that female intellectuals need to continue to advocate, propagate, and build the model of "New-era female intellectuals" in the spirit of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and effectively implement the emulation movement "Building new-era Vietnamese women" launched by the Central Association.
