65 years of Vietnam - Cuba relations: Strengthening professional cooperation between press agencies

Nhan Dan Newspaper and Granma Newspaper - the two mouthpieces of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Cuba - have agreed to strengthen professional cooperation to promote the propaganda of the two Parties' guidelines and leadership in the context of the current volatile international situation.

According to VNA correspondent in Havana, at the working session, Party Central Committee member and Editor-in-Chief of Granma Newspaper Yoerky Sánchez Cuellar affirmed that one of the newspaper's important news lines is to publish information and articles on Vietnam-Cuba relations, contributing to fostering solidarity, special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two brotherly countries.

For his part, Head of the Science and Environment Department of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Dinh Song Linh, emphasized that Nhan Dan Newspaper always attaches importance to promoting professional cooperation with Granma; at the same time, he highly appreciated Granma Newspaper's launching of a special page on Vietnam on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (December 2, 1960 - December 2, 2025).

The two sides discussed and agreed on cooperation priorities in the coming time, including: signing a Memorandum of Understanding on professional cooperation, considering this a legal foundation for bilateral cooperation; promoting the exchange of information content and articles for publication on the platforms of Nhan Dan and Granma Newspapers; and cooperating in training reporters and editors on artificial intelligence (AI) in the digital age.

In addition, the two sides also discussed cooperation in establishing a joint digital documentation center to store publications, articles, historical photos about the formation and development of each country, as well as valuable press documents on the Vietnam-Cuba bilateral relationship.

Editor-in-Chief Yoerky Sánchez Cuellar introduced to the delegation of journalists of Nhan Dan Newspaper valuable articles, films and photos about the country and people of Vietnam during the resistance war for independence, especially the photo collection about President Ho Chi Minh and the historical issue published on May 1, 1975, reporting on the Liberation Day of the South and National Reunification Day on April 30, 1975.

During their visit and work in Cuba from October 16-21, the delegation of journalists from Nhan Dan Newspaper attended the first Granma-Rebelde International Journalism Festival held in the capital city of Havana, Cuba. In the exhibition space of Granma Newspaper and Nhan Dan Newspaper, many publications about the country's history and President Ho Chi Minh were displayed. In addition, Nhan Dan Newspaper also screened a short film about its formation and development.
