
Attending the event were leaders of provincial departments, branches and sectors, along with more than 100 officials, party members and people in the project area, including party members, retired officials and households subject to relocation.
Through the survey, people all expressed their desire to be resettled in an area with convenient transportation, stable agricultural production conditions, and at the same time enjoy compensation and support policies to ensure long-term life and livelihood.
Mr. Tran Minh Thai, Secretary of the Vinh Hai Commune Party Committee, informed that local officials, party members, and residents always agree with the policy of building a nuclear power plant and resettlement area. However, some opinions suggested considering the location of Hon Mot area (Vinh Hai Commune) to make life and production more convenient.
Mr. Vo Van Bay, former Party Secretary of Vinh Hai commune, said that people want to be arranged a resettlement site that ensures health conditions, living environment, convenient transportation, and stable production land, in accordance with compensation mechanisms and policies according to regulations.

At the working session, Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Trinh Minh Hoang emphasized that surveying and collecting people's opinions on the resettlement area construction site is an important step to create consensus and ensure the legitimate rights of people in the project area.
Mr. Trinh Minh Hoang said that the province will accept the recommendations and direct specialized agencies to review and survey some more suitable locations to choose the optimal solution. The Provincial People's Committee will have appropriate compensation policies, ensuring that the resettlement land must be stable and meet the livelihood needs of the people. He highly appreciated the spirit of solidarity and sharing the difficulties of the people of Vinh Hai commune, affirming that the province will arrange the best resettlement area, synchronous infrastructure, favorable for production and long-term stability of life, in accordance with the Government 's regulations and nuclear safety standards according to the guidance of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

According to Report No. 258/BC-SNNMT dated October 20, 2025 of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the total area recovered by the Nuclear Power Plant No. 2 Project is 466.3 hectares, involving 793 households and relocating 3,071 graves. Of which, the factory area occupies 404.5 hectares with 534 households; the Hon Mot resettlement area has an area of 54.39 hectares, including 204 households and 85 graves; the existing residential area improvement area is 13.4 hectares with 57 households and 91 graves; and the resettlement area is being adjusted in planning. Up to now, the work of inventory, determining the origin of land and making a compensation plan has been basically completed, ensuring progress according to the direction of the Provincial People's Committee.

Previously, on the afternoon of October 22, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a meeting of the Steering Committee for the construction of the Nuclear Power Plant, announcing the decision to establish a National Steering Committee to direct the implementation of the National Assembly's Resolution on continuing to invest in the Ninh Thuan Nuclear Power Project. The Prime Minister requested ministries, branches and localities to "show great determination, make great efforts and take drastic actions", implementing the "6 clear" principles - clear people, clear work, clear responsibilities, clear time, clear results and clear authority.
On October 20, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee also issued Document No. 661/UBND-KT signed by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trinh Minh Hoang on promoting electricity and energy development projects in the province according to the approved planning. The document assigned departments, branches and localities to closely coordinate, prioritize land allocation, accelerate site clearance, compensation, resettlement, and create the best conditions for implementing key energy projects, including the Nuclear Power Plant No. 2 Project.
