Improve the efficiency of agricultural materials management

To improve the effectiveness of state management of agricultural materials, departments, branches, agencies and functional units need to further strengthen advocacy and propaganda work combined with inspection, control, prevention and timely handling of violations.

Uses millions of tons of agricultural supplies each year

Statistics from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lam Dong province show that the province currently has 8 enterprises producing organic and inorganic fertilizers with a total capacity of 370,725 tons/year, corresponding to 3.9% of agricultural production demand. The remaining 96.1% of fertilizers are supplied from production and trading enterprises outside the province. In addition, the province has 3,545 stores and agents distributing pesticides from enterprises outside the province. In total, with 1,046,888 hectares of cultivated crops, Lam Dong province annually uses 8.65 million tons of fertilizers and 5,513 tons of pesticides.

Up to now, Lam Dong Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection has received dossiers announcing the conformity of 283 fertilizer and plant protection products from nearly 40 manufacturing and trading enterprises in the area. At the same time, it has appraised, newly issued and re-issued certificates of eligibility to trade in fertilizers and plant protection products for 903 establishments.

In 2025, in the Lam Dong area, 15 random fertilizer samples were taken. The analysis results of 4 fertilizer samples showed that the quality did not comply with the announced technical standards. The functional unit made a record to handle administrative violations. Similarly, in the Lam Dong area, through inspection of 41 fertilizer and pesticide trading establishments, the functional unit discovered and handled acts of trading in expired pesticides and poor quality fertilizers. In addition, the police force in Lam Dong province discovered and handled cases of bottling and packaging of fertilizers and pesticides of unknown origin, and trading in counterfeit goods with sophisticated tricks, causing damage to producers and affecting the quality and reputation of Lam Dong agricultural product brands.

Coordinate product traceability inspection

Recently, Member of the Provincial Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Le Trong Yen signed a document directing the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lam Dong to preside over and coordinate with departments, branches and localities to propose the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to organize training courses to improve professional skills for cadres, civil servants and public employees to meet the requirements of state management of local agricultural materials. In addition, strengthen coordination activities to check origin traceability, handle violations and advise farmers to use products that ensure quality standards; at the same time, notify the Department of Agriculture and Environment of provinces and cities with enterprises violating the production and trading of agricultural materials to handle according to the law.

Lam Dong Provincial Police continue to direct professional units, ward and commune police, and Phu Quy special zone to strengthen the work of grasping the situation, promptly detecting, preventing and handling according to the law the acts of producing and trading in agricultural materials that are counterfeit, poor quality, and of unknown origin.
