One of the meaningful activities that the Son La Provincial Youth Union is coordinating with Viettel Son La to implement is the free screening of the film "Red Rain" in communes, wards, and schools throughout the province from December 2nd to December 31st, 2025. The film, produced by the People's Army Film Studio, recreates the 81 days and nights of heroic fighting to defend the Quang Tri Citadel in 1972. This is one of the large-scale revolutionary tradition education activities implemented by the Provincial Youth Union throughout the province. Each screening location attracts a large number of students, youth union members, and local people.

At the Moc Chau Ward Conference Center, at exactly 3:00 PM, hundreds of seats were filled. From students to young people and citizens, everyone maintained order and attentively watched the film. Moved by the scenes in the film, Mui Thi Huyen, a member of the Youth Union from residential group 34, Moc Son Ward, shared: "After watching the film, I felt the courageous fighting spirit and heroic sacrifice of the soldiers. In the hardships of war, they always remained united and fought with the determination to liberate the nation. Living in peace and independence, studying and living with family and loved ones, I feel truly grateful and appreciative of the generations of our ancestors who sacrificed their lives so that we young people could have a happy life today. I will try my best to study well and become a useful citizen."

Recognizing that revolutionary tradition education is the "guiding principle" in youth work, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee has directed grassroots youth organizations to strengthen the dissemination and education of revolutionary ideals, linking it with the implementation of Directive No. 42-CT/TW of the Central Party Committee on "Strengthening the Party's leadership over the work of educating revolutionary ideals, ethics, and cultural lifestyles for the younger generation in the period 2015-2030; studying and following the thoughts, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh." The Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee selects content and organizes revolutionary tradition education activities on a provincial scale to create a widespread impact on grassroots youth organizations. From there, it directs grassroots youth organizations to select specific, practical activities suitable to their localities.
Implementing the campaign to study and follow Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style, from the beginning of the year until now, youth union branches in the province have organized 120 political activities with the theme "Remembering Uncle Ho makes our hearts purer"; organized 120 sessions and discussions on books written about Uncle Ho. 3,745 newly admitted youth union members have studied political theory for young people. They have also organized 112 activities to promote and educate youth union members on revolutionary ideals, cultural traditions, and laws; and conducted regular meetings with the theme "Aspiration for Contribution, the Meaning of Life for Youth" at youth union branches…
According to Mr. Lo Manh Cuong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union: The work of educating about revolutionary traditions has been implemented in a way that is appropriate for each age group, from children to young union members. The Provincial Youth Union directs its branches to effectively implement the "Digital Map" with 27 historical sites and 18 digital models of historical documents and artifacts; maintaining the activities of 15 teams of young propagandists at historical sites and relics throughout the province. They have organized revolutionary education competitions such as the online competition "Young People of Ethnic Groups in Son La Province: Unwavering Faith in the Party," a festival of revolutionary songs, and a competition to learn about Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought… attracting nearly 30,000 young union members at all levels.

Along with revolutionary education through direct methods, youth union branches also publish and disseminate information on social media platforms. Since the beginning of the year, 75 units have implemented the "Youth Electronic Diary Following Uncle Ho's Teachings" model; 2,385 news articles have been published promoting the "One Good News Story Every Day, One Beautiful Story Every Week" campaign; and 65 positive online trends and activities have been launched and participated in, initiated by the Central Youth Union and provincial youth unions.
Over the past year, many outstanding young people have emerged in their studies, work, production, and national defense. Throughout the province, 639 young people were honored as advanced youth following Uncle Ho's teachings at various levels; one young person was commended as a "Youth Living Beautifully" in 2025; and three outstanding Youth Union officials received the "October 15th" award in 2025 from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union.
Through various forms of propaganda and practical, effective activities, the revolutionary tradition education work of the Son La Provincial Youth Union aims to cultivate ideals, character, and responsibility towards the Fatherland among young people. This contributes to building a dynamic, creative, and patriotic generation of young people, following in the footsteps of their ancestors to continue writing the glorious history of the nation in the new era.
