For over 8 years, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Giang, a resident of Rach Gia ward, has been practicing yoga for about 30-45 minutes every morning. This habit not only helps her maintain physical health, reduce neck and shoulder pain, but also adds positive energy and nourishes a relaxed spirit. “Every morning when I wake up, I start the day with a glass of warm water, then do yoga exercises at home, do personal hygiene, have breakfast and go to work. In addition, I eat a lot of green vegetables, limit fat, drink a lot of water and get enough sleep 7-8 hours a day. Thanks to maintaining this habit, I see many changes in my body, better health, comfortable spirit and work more effectively,” Ms. Giang said.
With her accounting job, Ms. Huynh Thi Nga, living in Rach Gia ward, had a time when she was under a lot of pressure, stress, insomnia and health effects. Since being invited by friends to participate in suitable sports , she feels her health has improved, working more focused and effective. Ms. Nga shared: “Before, I had difficulty sleeping, always thinking about work made my spirit seem exhausted. After that, I joined a volleyball group, practicing with friends in the evening for about 1 hour. Thanks to maintaining this habit for more than 2 years, my sleep has improved significantly, I go to bed early, wake up early and have less common illnesses.”
In addition to volleyball, Nga also participates in badminton, tennis, pickleball, yoga... Depending on the time and field conditions, Nga chooses a suitable sport to participate in every day. She uses her time more reasonably and scientifically , spends less time on social networks, and spends more time exercising. She also cooks regularly, balances nutrition, and prioritizes choosing safe, healthy foods.
From a person who was afraid of exercise and ate according to her preferences, sometimes her weight gain was difficult to control, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Le, a resident of Rach Gia ward, joined volleyball practice with her colleagues. At the same time, she adjusted her diet to include all food groups, prioritizing eating lots of green vegetables, foods of plant origin, rich in calcium, limiting fast food, high in fat, reducing sugar, salt and spices. "Thanks to persistently changing bad habits, pursuing a healthy lifestyle, I lost weight and maintained it at a suitable level. My body is more flexible and healthy," Ms. Le shared.
To maintain a healthy lifestyle, in addition to physical training, keeping an optimistic spirit and nurturing positive energy is also very important, especially paying attention to mental health at work. Work pressure is a driving force that can help people train themselves and improve themselves, but if the pressure is too much, it can cause tension, stress, and even mental problems.
Dr. Lam Tuong Minh - Director of Kien Giang Mental Hospital said that according to the World Health Organization, up to 12 billion working days are lost each year due to depression and anxiety. In a fast-paced work environment, employees often encounter stress factors such as high workload, work-life imbalance, etc.
To maintain mental health and a healthy lifestyle, Dr. Lam Tuong Minh recommends that each individual should build a balanced diet, exercise regularly, get enough sleep, change bad habits, and proactively take care of their health through regular health check-ups. Each individual needs to find suitable relaxation methods to increase the body's resistance and recovery ability. At work, it is necessary to support each other to limit stress and create a healthy working environment.
