On February 3, 1930 – the spring of the Year of the Horse – the Communist Party of Vietnam was founded, assuming the historical role of leading the revolutionary movement of our people. Since its birth, through more than 90 springs, overcoming countless storms and tribulations, our Party has steadfastly steered the ship of the Vietnamese revolution to the shores of glory.
Fifteen years after its founding, the Party led the entire nation to rise up and crush the yoke of the invading enemy and their henchmen, seizing power in the August Revolution of 1945 and establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam – the first workers' and peasants' state in Southeast Asia. This event is the greatest miracle in the history of our nation's liberation.
Next, over the 30 years (1945-1975), the Party led the people to victory against the two most brutal enemies: French colonialism (1945-1954) and American imperialism (1954-1975). By the spring of 1975, our country was unified.
The entire nation is working together to carry out two strategic tasks: building and defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Entering a new revolutionary phase, and in response to the demands of history to continue the country's development, at the Sixth National Congress in December 1986, our Party proposed comprehensive reforms, first and foremost the reform of economic thinking.
After nearly 40 springs, our country has experienced many upheavals, difficulties, and challenges, especially negative objective impacts such as epidemics, regional wars, instability, and competition from major powers, leading to disadvantages in the country's economic development. However, with its firm political resolve, unwavering stance, and adherence to Marxist-Leninist principles and Ho Chi Minh Thought, our Party has led the people in promoting national unity, leveraging the support and cooperation of the international community, and gradually overcoming difficulties, obstacles, and bottlenecks, advancing the cause of reform and achieving many important results that have earned the admiration and high regard of the world.
At the 13th National Congress of the Party, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong affirmed: “We have achieved tremendous achievements of historical significance, developing more strongly and comprehensively than in the years before the reforms. With all humility, we can still say that our country has never had such a foundation, potential, position, and international prestige as it does today.”
In harmony with the flow of history, throughout the 94-year revolutionary process, under the leadership of the Party, the people of Vinh Phuc have endured countless hardships and sacrifices to achieve victory in the August Revolution of 1945, in the two protracted wars of resistance against French colonialism and against the US for national liberation, along with the task of building socialism and serving as a solid rear base for the battlefield. Many areas and people of Vinh Phuc have become exemplary models known throughout the country, and have been visited and praised by President Ho Chi Minh and many other Party and State leaders on numerous occasions.
Throughout its history of reform, especially since nearly 30 years since the province's re-establishment, Vinh Phuc has made many breakthroughs in thinking and vision, creating many important milestones in socio-economic development. Today, Vinh Phuc's appearance has improved significantly. The material and spiritual lives of the people have been noticeably improved and enhanced.
As the Year of the Dragon (Giáp Thìn) arrives, Vinh Phuc welcomes the 94th Spring of the Party with a new spirit and unwavering belief: "With the right orientation, a strong aspiration for development, and high political determination, the entire Party, people, and army will certainly achieve development successes for a prosperous and happy Vietnam, moving forward and standing shoulder to shoulder with the great powers of the world."
