Health examination and treatment for the elderly under health insurance at Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Ward Health Station (Bac Kan city)
In recent times, the Provincial Social Insurance has issued health insurance cards in a timely and proper manner to participants, including the elderly; at the same time, it has coordinated with the health sector to effectively implement health insurance policies in the province, improve the quality of medical examination and treatment, manage and effectively use health insurance medical examination and treatment costs, meet the health care needs of the people, especially the elderly, ensure the rights and build trust for people when going for medical examination and treatment with health insurance cards.
In the first 10 months of 2024, the whole province had 194,373 elderly people going for health insurance examination and treatment with a total payment cost from the Health Insurance Fund of VND 88.3 billion (accounting for 39.3% of the total number of people going for health insurance examination and treatment and 33.7% of the total health insurance expenditure).
The provincial Social Insurance focuses on enhancing the application of information technology, promoting administrative procedure reform; receiving records and promptly and fully resolving and paying social insurance and health insurance policies, creating maximum convenience for participants, including the elderly who enjoy retirement benefits, social insurance subsidies, medical examination and treatment under health insurance; paying special attention and providing enthusiastic and thoughtful guidance to the elderly when they are not proficient in information technology and have questions related to social insurance and health insurance policies and regimes.
The unit continues to implement diverse and flexible payment methods for social insurance regimes; promote propaganda and mobilize beneficiaries to receive pension regimes and social insurance subsidies through non-cash payment methods; and effectively implement payment via ATM accounts for beneficiaries.
By the end of October 2024, the Provincial Social Insurance is managing and paying monthly pension and social insurance benefits to 9,817 elderly people (accounting for 88.7% of people receiving pension and social insurance benefits). monthly and accounting for about 26% of the elderly in the province) with an average payment of about 65 billion VND/month. The number of elderly people receiving monthly pensions and social insurance benefits through non-cash payment methods is nearly 4,000 people, accounting for 39% of the elderly receiving pensions./.
