“Who loves Uncle Ho Chi Minh more than teenagers and children…”

Việt NamViệt Nam16/05/2025

Among the myriad of love that President Ho Chi Minh had for the People, there was a great love for children. And among the children today - those who have never met but only know Uncle Ho through pictures and stories - the love and respect they have for him is immeasurable.

Uncle Ho and children: A boundless love

Talking about Uncle Ho's immense love for young people, we immediately remember the warm and loving wishes and greetings that, until today, every time we celebrate the new school year (September 5), Mid-Autumn Festival (August 15) or International Children's Day (June 1), we always hear in Uncle Ho's letters to young people.

At the beginning of each new school year, students are always reminded of Uncle Ho's advice, which is also his trust and hope for the future generation about the responsibility to the country: "Whether Vietnam becomes beautiful or not, whether the Vietnamese people can step up to the stage of glory to stand shoulder to shoulder with the world powers or not, depends largely on your studies" (Letter to students in September 1945 by Uncle Ho).

As Vietnamese children, perhaps since childhood, everyone has learned and memorized the "5 teachings of Uncle Ho": "Love the Fatherland, love the people/ Study well, work well/ Solidarity well, discipline well/ Maintain good hygiene/ Be modest, honest, brave". Those teachings can follow each person throughout their life journey.

Uncle Ho's immense love for young people is also expressed through many stories and poems: "Children are like buds on a branch/ Knowing how to eat, sleep, and study is good/ Unfortunately, the country's fate is difficult/ Children also have to suffer..."; "I hope you will try/ Compete to study and practice/ Young people do small jobs/ Depending on your strength/ You must be worthy/ Children of Uncle Ho Chi Minh". His teachings filled with immense love have always accompanied young people across the country in all ages and have also become a priceless cultural heritage of the entire Party, the entire people and the young generation of our country.

And, until the day Uncle Ho passed away, in his Will left to the Vietnamese people, that immense love remained intact, passed on to future generations: "Finally, I leave behind endless love for the children and teenagers."

Children love Uncle Ho with all their hearts.

When telling the story “Warm Coat”, Nguyen Thien Thanh, class 2/1 (first prize winner) stopped many times because of emotion, and his pauses also brought tears to many viewers who were listening to him tell stories about Uncle Ho, in the contest “Arranging books artistically and telling stories according to books” organized by Nguyen Thi Dinh Primary School (Ward 1, Bac Lieu City) to celebrate the anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30).

Each story about Uncle Ho contains humane messages about his special sharing, care, and empathy for the people, compatriots, and soldiers, including many stories about children. Therefore, each story told, even though very familiar, still touches the hearts of listeners!

Also in this contest, the story "Whoever is good will be rewarded" about Uncle Ho's love for children, teaching children to admit their mistakes when they see their mistakes, told by Thach Vo An Phu (grade 1, second prize), also conquered the audience, because not only did he present the story fluently, but he also had a very lovely expression when playing the role of Uncle Ho, even though he was only in grade 1!

It is not surprising that there are very young children who, when they see a picture of Uncle Ho anywhere, even if it is just a small picture printed in a newspaper, recognize that it is Uncle Ho! It is also not surprising that there are children in the countryside who, every time Tet comes, when their family sets up an altar for Uncle Ho in front of their house, always voluntarily and respectfully light incense and bow their heads before Uncle Ho's picture...

Because Uncle Ho always had a great love for the young people, it is obvious that the song "Who loves Uncle Ho Chi Minh more than the young people" has sent the hearts of all Vietnamese young people of all generations to Uncle Ho. Loving and respecting Uncle Ho, we vow to always do well the 5 things Uncle Ho taught, strive to study, work well, be obedient and polite to become excellent citizens for the country in the future. Vietnamese young people will "continue writing the story of peace " with the love and respect for Uncle Ho forever in our hearts.
