On the morning of October 4, the Government Standing Committee met with business representatives on the occasion of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs Day (October 13, 1945), chaired by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. Deputy Prime Ministers: Nguyen Hoa Binh , Tran Hong Ha, Le Thanh Long; leaders of ministries, branches and 200 outstanding entrepreneurs attended.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said the meeting was to express gratitude and honor businesses and entrepreneurs who have contributed to the cause of innovation and development of the country, for the goal of a rich people, strong country, democracy, equality and civilization. The team of businesses and entrepreneurs have made very important contributions to the revolutionary cause of the country.

The Head of Government expressed his emotion at the voluntary contributions, sharing, and "sincere, enthusiastic, and effective" help of businesses and entrepreneurs in 26 localities affected by storm Yagi .

The Prime Minister affirmed that the Party, State and Government always respectfully welcome Vietnamese entrepreneurs - talented, dedicated people with a deep and correct awareness of their key responsibilities and pioneering roles in contributing to promoting socio-economic development and enhancing the country's potential, prestige and international position.

Our country has never had the foundation, potential, position and international prestige as it does today, with the contributions of entrepreneurs and businesses.

"The ancients have a saying: 'No worker, no wealth, no business, no activity' to express the importance and indispensability of the business community for development. Without a good business community, the economic flow will stagnate and the country will not be able to prosper," the Prime Minister emphasized.

At this meeting, the Prime Minister asked business representatives to share their feelings, thoughts, concerns, and worries about the development of the country in general and of businesses and entrepreneurs in particular; to give suggestions so that what has been done well can be done even better, and that the team of businesses and entrepreneurs can contribute even more, especially to give institutional suggestions so that businesses can develop healthily, openly, transparently, and legally.

According to Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, Vietnam has more than 930,000 active enterprises, about 14,400 cooperatives and more than 5 million business households. In the first 9 months of the year, more than 183,000 enterprises entered and re-entered the market.

The business and entrepreneur force currently contributes about 60% of GDP, 85% of total labor force, and 98% of total import-export turnover.

At the current growth rate, the number of newly registered enterprises in 2024 will continue to be higher than the 159,000 in 2023, and this will be the third consecutive year of record-breaking new enterprise registration. The cumulative number of newly registered enterprises from 2000 to the end of 2024 will exceed 2.1 million enterprises.

Mr. Dung also informed that according to a recent quick survey, the business situation has become much more optimistic, showing that confidence has been strengthened and enhanced: the percentage of businesses that "positively" assess the macro economy in the next 12 months is 5 times higher than in the previous survey.
