An Giang: Number of hand, foot and mouth disease cases increased dramatically

The health sector of An Giang province is making efforts to control the hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) epidemic in the area. At this time, the locality records about 100 new cases each week.

On July 14, Mr. Tran Quang Hien, Director of the Department of Health of An Giang province, said that since the beginning of the year, the whole province has had more than 1,000 cases of hand and foot diseases. Especially in June, medical facilities received a sudden increase in the number of hand and foot disease patients with nearly 260 cases, 3 times higher than last year.

The An Giang Provincial Department of Health requires medical units to proactively review resources, strengthen the operations of treatment facilities, prepare medicines, test reagents, equipment, medical supplies, etc. to promptly admit and treat TCM cases.
