Impressions of Hanoi's Book and Culture Space at the Frankfurt International Book Fair 2025

The Hanoi delegation led by Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports Nguyen Thi Mai Huong brought to the 77th Frankfurt International Book Fair - 2025 - the world's largest publishing festival, many typical books about the history and culture of Hanoi and Vietnam, to introduce to international friends the country and people of Vietnam, the capital Hanoi, civilized, heroic, dynamic, creative, for peace and development.

The 77th Frankfurt International Book Fair - 2025 takes place from October 15 to October 19, with the opening ceremony taking place on the afternoon of October 14 at the Messe Frankfurt Exhibition Center, Frankfurt am Main (Germany).

According to information from the Hanoi city delegation, on the morning of October 15, the delegation coordinated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam Publishing Association, and Ho Chi Minh City to organize the opening ceremony of the Vietnam Book Space at the Frankfurt International Book Fair 2025.

Attending the opening ceremony were Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Phan Tam; Chairman of the Vietnam Publishing Association Pham Minh Tuan; Consul General of Vietnam in Frankfurt Luu Xuan Dong.

The ceremony was also attended by Vice President of Frankfurt Book Fair Claudia Kaiser; President of Asean Publishing Association and President of Malaysian Publishing Association Shake Faisal; President of the Publishing Development Association of the Philippines - the Guest of Honor of the Frankfurt International Book Fair 2025 - Andrea Pasion Flores and representatives of Publishing Associations of the Philippines, Japan, the Netherlands and Bulgaria.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Phan Tam said that the Frankfurt International Book Fair is a symbol of creativity, dialogue and cultural cooperation, where cultures meet, listen and enrich each other, and at the same time, demonstrates the aspiration to "bring Vietnamese books closer to global readers".

Through the Frankfurt International Book Fair, Vietnam hopes to promote cooperation in the publishing community, translation, copyright exchange, as well as expand investment in digital publishing, e-books, audiobooks and international copyright platforms - so that Vietnamese stories reach readers everywhere faster and more conveniently, so that Vietnam becomes a creative, dynamic and trustworthy partner in the global publishing community.

Also on October 15, the Hanoi city delegation, together with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam Publishing Association, and Ho Chi Minh City, had a working session with Vice President of the Frankfurt Book Fair Claudia Kaiser.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed issues related to Vietnam's participation in the Frankfurt International Book Fair in general and Hanoi in particular in the coming years, and issues related to copyright and book translation with the desire to strongly promote the development of the publishing industry in Hanoi and Vietnam.

On the morning of October 16, a delegation from Hanoi visited and worked with the Vietnamese Consulate in Frankfurt. On behalf of the delegation, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports, Head of the delegation Nguyen Thi Mai Huong thanked the Vietnamese Consulate in Frankfurt for always creating favorable conditions and supporting the delegations of Hanoi to participate in the annual Frankfurt International Book Fair.

With the desire to strengthen the cultural connection between Hanoi and the Vietnamese community in Germany, right after the end of the Book Fair, the Hanoi delegation donated books to the Consulate to inform overseas Vietnamese in Frankfurt as well as Germany about the political, economic, cultural and social situation of the capital and the country.

In order to enhance international exchange and integration in publishing activities, this year Hanoi continues to participate in the Frankfurt International Book Fair with a space for displaying, introducing books and promoting tourism of 48m2, located in the area of ​​Asian countries. More than 100 typical books on the history and culture of Hanoi and Vietnam along with many unique tourism products of Hanoi are introduced to international friends.

During the Book Fair, Hanoi - Vietnam Book Space welcomed many delegations and readers to visit, exchange and share experiences on publishing activities, copyright transactions as well as learn about the culture and tourism of Hanoi and Vietnam.
