NDO - During the historic days of April, Mi-171, Mi-17, and Mi-8 helicopters from Bien Hoa airport with a special mission - carrying the Party flag and the national flag flew into the center of Ho Chi Minh City to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification on the morning of April 30.

Mi-171, Mi-17, Mi-8 helicopters have been put into position at Bien Hoa airport.

The Party flag and the National flag have the same size, about 20m2 , with a 120kg counterweight at the bottom of the cable, to stretch the flag when flying in the air.

The flight crews participating in the special flight belong to the 917th Helicopter Regiment (Division 370), 916th Regiment (Division 371), and 930th Regiment (Division 372).

The plane was ordered to take off at the altitude and distance ordered by the flight commander.

The helicopters used in the flight were Mi-171, Mi-17, Mi-8 and flew in a 3-4-3 formation.

The planned flight route is: Bien Hoa Military Airport (Dong Nai) - Thu Duc City - Saigon Bridge - Independence Palace - Bach Dang Wharf and departs from the center of District 1 (Ho Chi Minh City) and flies along the Saigon River to Thu Dau Mot City (Binh Duong), returning to Bien Hoa Military Airport.

In addition to helicopters, the formation also includes Su-30MK fighter jets and Yak-130 multi-role training aircraft.

10 helicopters flew to raise the Party flag and the national flag in the sky of Ho Chi Minh City to prepare for the April 30th celebration.
