Ao dai of three regions converge in Hue

As part of the series of activities of Hue Community Ao Dai Week 2024, on the afternoon of June 29, at the park opposite Kim Long communal house in Kim Long ward, Hue city, an Ao Dai performance took place with the theme "Hue's craft heritage is tied together with Ao Dai".

At the program, designers from the three regions of North, Central and South introduced to the public collections inspired by famous traditional craft villages in the ancient capital.

Through the performances, the audience learned about the Zeng weaving craft from the mountainous district of A Luoi, the Pho Trach palm-leaf mattress craft, the conical hat making craft of the countryside village of Phu Vang, and the kite making craft of Hue...

Throughout the program, artisans from craft villages participated. The artisans recreated the process of making products right on the main stage - where the models performed, creating an emotional scene.

These activities when combined with Ao Dai have brought with them the soul of not only Ao Dai but also the soul of traditional craft villages. All when combined with Ao Dai have honored the beauty of Hue culture.

On the same morning, at Kim Long communal house, a photo exhibition "Contemporary Ao Dai - Convergence of Three Regions" took place. The exhibition displayed and introduced to the public more than 30 photographic works by 15 authors about the images of Ao Dai collections by designers from three regions of the country.

These are all individuals and units with names in the field of ao dai design such as designer Nguyen Tri Long, designer Vu Viet Ha, designer Quang Huy, designer Nguyen Anh Tuan, designer Viet Hung, designer Ella Phan...

The exhibition helps people and tourists better understand the Ao Dai, thereby cherishing and appreciating the traditional Ao Dai; at the same time, it contributes to educating love for the traditional cultural values of the nation, contributing to promoting culture, attracting tourism, and developing the socio-economy of the locality and the country.

Within the framework of the exhibition, people and visitors also have the opportunity to admire the performance of the Ao Dai collection inspired by the culture of Hue's craft villages by designers such as Nguyen Tri Long, Urban Sketcher Hanoi , Viet Bao, and Ve Mien Huong Ngu Agency.

According to Mr. Phan Thanh Hai, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Thua Thien Hue province, these activities of the Hue Community Ao Dai Week 2024 have been effective when targeting the main beneficiaries, the community.

Hue Community Ao Dai Week 2024 will continue with many activities from June 24 to 30.
