Tropical depression in the East Sea causes level 9 wind gusts

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 7:00 a.m. this morning, the center of the tropical depression was located at about 15.8 degrees North latitude; 113.5 degrees East longitude in the sea southeast of Hoang Sa special zone. The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression is level 6-7 (39-61 km/h), gusting to level 9. Moving northwest at a speed of about 15 km/h.

Forecast in the next 24 hours, the tropical depression will move to the West Northwest, about 20km/h. Wind intensity is level 8, gusting to level 10. Affected areas include: the North East Sea area (including Hoang Sa special zone), the North of the Central East Sea area, offshore waters from Nghe An to Hue City.

From the next 48 to 60 hours, the tropical depression continues to move mainly in the West direction, traveling 20-25km per hour and gradually weakens into a low pressure area.

The North East Sea area (including Hoang Sa special zone) and the sea area north of the Central East Sea area have strong winds of level 6-7, the area near the storm's center has strong winds of level 8, gusting to level 10; waves 3.0-5.0m high, rough seas.

From the night of August 29, the sea area from Nghe An to Hue City will gradually increase to level 6-7, the area near the storm's eye will experience level 8 winds, gusting to level 10; waves 3.0-5.0m high, rough seas.

Ships operating in the above mentioned dangerous areas are likely to be affected by storms, whirlwinds, strong winds and large waves.
