Apple is not only aiming for a foldable iPhone, but also a foldable iPad
Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman exclusively reported that when opened, this special iPad will be about the size of two iPad Pros put together. Apple seems to have found a way to almost completely eliminate the crease on the screen, which is an inherent weakness of current foldable devices.
“Apple wants to create a seamless display that looks like a single sheet of glass,” the source revealed. If successful, this would be a major breakthrough, helping to improve the user experience on foldable screen devices.
The foldable iPad is expected to feature an 18.8-inch display and run a hybrid operating system that combines iPadOS and macOS. However, it is unclear whether Apple will go all out and fully integrate macOS features into the iPad.
Currently, foldable laptop models such as the Asus Zenbook Fold OLED and HP Spectre Foldable start at $3,500. Therefore, many people are worried that Apple's foldable iPad will also have an exorbitant price. Hopefully, Apple will optimize production costs so that this product can reach more users.
Apple's foldable iPad is expected to launch around 2028. Previously, the company was also said to be developing a foldable iPhone, but the launch date remains unknown.
