This is not only a long-term strategic orientation, but also the concretization of the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo . Danang University clearly defines the task of harmoniously combining academic research, international publication with knowledge transfer, practical application and innovation - all aimed at a university education closely linked to life and sustainable development of the country.
Spreading plastic waste treatment model in the community
One of the typical examples of that spirit is the Material Recovery Facilities (MRF) initiative implemented by a group of lecturers and students from the University of Education - Danang University. This initiative has won the highest award in the Plastics Innovation Program (PIP) - a program sponsored by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development .

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Kieu Thi Kinh - lecturer of the Faculty of Preschool and Primary Education, a member of the research team - the MRF model is a completely feasible solution, highly applicable and can be replicated in many schools, residential areas and urban apartments. This model not only contributes to solving the problem of plastic waste but also promotes a green lifestyle, raising public awareness in classifying and recycling waste at the source. More importantly, this is also a link in the development of a green economy, a circular economy that Vietnam is aiming for.
With a grant of 30,000 USD from the PIP Program, the research team of the University of Education - University of Danang has more resources to expand the implementation of the MRF model to many areas in Danang city, especially in residential communities and schools - where it is necessary to spread sustainable living habits from an early age.
Unleash student creativity from ideas to real products
Within the framework of the event series “Connecting startup networks and scientific and technological research achievements of Danang University”, held at the University of Technical Education – Danang University, many research products and creative solutions of students were introduced and received high appreciation from experts and the startup community.

A typical example is the “NextPark” project, a technological product jointly implemented by a group of students from the University of Technical Education and the University of Economics. The project has applied modern algorithms and automatic control mechanisms to build a smart parking system, integrating functions from license plate recognition, checking vacant spaces to operating vehicle lifting and lowering mechanisms and fire prevention and fighting management through technologies such as RFID and QR code.

Student Ha Anh Vu – a member of the project team – shared that NextPark is developed into two main product packages: Smart Parking Pro (a fully automatic parking solution) and Smart Parking Lite (a solution to upgrade traditional parking lots). This solution not only helps optimize urban space, shorten parking time but also enhances usability, flexibly adapting to many infrastructure conditions in densely populated cities.
Innovative products like NextPark are nurtured and strongly supported through the startup and innovation ecosystem of the University of Danang. Students have access to academic playgrounds, specialized competitions, and receive direct support from lecturers and experts to complete the product in terms of technology, economics as well as successful commercialization.
Linking knowledge with locality, economic development with indigenous culture
Not only focusing on research and startups, member universities of the University of Danang also actively connect with localities to realize the goal of bringing knowledge and technology to serve the community. Recently, the University of Economics - University of Danang has coordinated with production facilities in Hoa Vang (Da Nang City) to deploy a Brand Identity for OCOP products.

These products have been tested at many units such as Do 37 Clean Agricultural Products Cooperative, Viana Company Limited, Hoa Tien Rice Facility..., initially bringing positive results in enhancing brand image and expanding market access.
Mr. Phan Van Ton - representative of local leaders - affirmed that the cooperation between the University of Economics and Hoa Vang district (old) in the period of 2023-2025 has contributed to exploiting local potential, promoting new rural development, and at the same time linking economic development with preserving and promoting local cultural and historical values.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Huy – Principal of the University of Economics – emphasized: “In the coming time, the university will continue to promote cooperation with localities, businesses and social organizations to spread knowledge, promote technology application and affirm the role of universities in sustainable development.”
