Mikel Arteta and his team had home advantage when hosting Lens. They did not disappoint the fans at Emirates Stadium when they poured goals into the opponent's net.

From the 21st to the 27th minute, Arsenal scored three goals in a row. The first was Gabriel Jesus. The Brazilian striker exchanged passes with Bakayo Saka in the middle before shooting the ball past goalkeeper Kevin Danso. Then, it was the English player's turn to score from Gabriel Martinelli's effort.
For the fourth goal of the match, Martinelli himself dribbled down the left wing before cutting into the middle and finishing diagonally into the goal. Before the first half ended, Martin Odegaard got his name on the scoreboard.
In the second half, Arsenal played leisurely. Meanwhile, Lens understood that the game was settled so they did not create much resistance. The pace of the match was quite slow, not many opportunities were created. Before the end of the match, substitute Jorginho scored from the 11 meter mark, making the score 6-0.
This result helps Arsenal to qualify for the Champions League Round of 16 with one match early. They are also sure to top Group B with 4 points more than PSV. The last time the Gunners reached the knockout stage was in the 2016/17 season.
