Asian Cup is an experience for us to play better in the U23 Asian Cup Finals.

" Next April, we will participate in the U23 Asian finals. The Asian Cup is an opportunity for us to play better and achieve the best results in the upcoming tournament, " Nguyen Dinh Bac shared at the airport after returning home with the Vietnamese team.

At noon on January 25, the first group of 13 Vietnamese members arrived in Hanoi . The remaining group will leave Qatar tomorrow.

The Vietnamese team ended the 2023 Asian Cup with poor results. For young players like Dinh Bac, this tournament brought many lessons.

Dinh Bac scored one goal in this tournament, the equalizer in the opening match against Japan, which ended in a 1-1 draw. He then missed the match against Indonesia due to injury.

" My team and I are very sad because we did not achieve the goals set before the tournament. I personally feel regretful because we did not achieve the desired results. This is my first time participating in the Asian Cup, I have gained a lot of experience and lessons to accumulate for the upcoming journey ," Dinh Bac shared.

Dinh Bac added about Coach Troussier's instructions before the players returned to the club: " The teacher encouraged the players and told everyone to try harder so that next March they will return with two matches against Indonesia in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers ."

The player born in 2004 hopes that fans will continue to support, encourage and stand side by side with the Vietnamese team.

The Vietnamese team did not win any matches at the 2023 Asian Cup, scoring 4 goals and conceding 8. The goalscorers for the Vietnamese team were Nguyen Dinh Bac, Pham Tuan Hai, Bui Hoang Viet Anh and Nguyen Quang Hai.

This is the first time the Vietnamese team has failed to advance past the group stage of the Asian Cup. In the two previous tournaments in 2007 and 2019, the Vietnamese team reached the quarter-finals.
