Innovating tourism promotion through digital technology.
With the increased application of information technology in management, administration, handling administrative procedures, and performing professional tasks, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has effectively implemented many software and digital platforms such as: online public administrative services, museum artifact management software, smart tourism information website, and electronic library; at the same time, the department is developing and providing an open data catalog for the sector.
Mr. Ly Vy Trieu Duong, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ca Mau province, said: “Previously, tourists visiting the locality mainly focused on listening and watching when visiting tourist attractions. Now, through digital transformation, we hope that tourists will have a newer way of receiving information. When tourists come to Ca Mau, they will have an increased interactive experience and an enhanced element of exploration through virtual reality and interactive technology, so that they can better understand the historical and cultural relics in the province.”

Many cultural events are organized on a large scale, applying modern equipment and technological effects, enhancing the quality and attractiveness of the programs. In the field of sports, large-scale tournaments have used electronic chips to monitor and determine the performance of athletes, ensuring accuracy and professionalism. In the tourism sector, digital transformation continues to receive attention, effectively implementing models under Project 06; adding a "Virtual Tourism Assistant" feature to the camautourism.vn website, perfecting the digital platform for managing, operating, promoting tourism, and supporting tourists.
Culture and tourism must be linked to digital transformation; it is necessary to promote the digitization of data, historical relics, museums, etc. Regarding digitized maps, the goal is to ensure that tourists who have not yet visited Ca Mau can still visualize the region's attractions through websites and social media. Through images and introductory videos, tourists will gain a better understanding of Ca Mau's culture, people, cuisine, and unique destinations, thereby attracting them to experience it firsthand.
Promoting digital transformation in the tourism industry not only helps improve management efficiency and promote the local image, but also creates a modern, friendly, and attractive tourism environment, meeting the increasingly high demands of tourists in the digital age.
