On August 16, the 7th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, term 2024-2029, officially opened with the participation of 300 delegates.

At the Congress, delegates objectively and comprehensively assessed the results of the implementation of the action program and resolution of the 6th Provincial Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. At the same time, the Congress also proposed an action program for the new period with the determination to "Enhance the core role of the Fatherland Front, implement democracy, strengthen social consensus, promote potential, and arouse aspirations to contribute to building a prosperous and happy Ba Ria - Vung Tau province".

During the 2024-2029 term, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee will continue to focus on promoting its leading role, coordinating with member organizations to propagate and mobilize people from all walks of life to participate in implementing the Party's guidelines, policies, laws of the State and the province's development goals. The goal of the new term is that each Front working group will have at least one model associated with poverty reduction, urban beautification, new rural construction, and 100% of poor and near-poor households will be supported to build solidarity houses.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thi Yen also requested the provincial Fatherland Front to continue to thoroughly grasp Ho Chi Minh's ideology and the Party's guidelines and policies on great national unity. Diversify forms of gathering, mobilizing and widely uniting people of all walks of life, ensuring high consensus and unity in ideology and action associated with organizing the implementation of Resolution No. 05-NQ/TU of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee on improving the quality of life and happiness of the people of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province by 2025, with a vision to 2030 and a vision to 2045, in order to build a comprehensively developed Ba Ria - Vung Tau people, fully converging the good qualities of the Vietnamese people.

Previously, the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee had many projects for the people and the community. Among them was the case of Mrs. Nguyen Thi My Hanh, a resident of Tan Phuoc Ward, Phu My Town, who was one of the direct beneficiaries of the projects to welcome the Fatherland Front Congress of the ward. With difficult circumstances of having to raise three school-age children alone, Mrs. Hanh lived in an old and cramped house without enough money to repair it.

Thanks to the support from the Fatherland Front Committee of Tan Phuoc Ward, a solidarity house worth more than 200 million VND was built for her family. The new house with two spacious bedrooms has brought happiness and peace of mind to Ms. Hanh and her children.

Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province Bui Chi Thanh shared joy with households in Phuoc Hung commune, Long Dien district who were supported with great solidarity houses.

Not only stopping at building solidarity houses, the Fatherland Front Committees at all levels and the Front Working Groups in residential areas also focus on social security work, helping many people in difficult circumstances. In Ward 11, Vung Tau City, alleys that were previously degraded and flooded during the rainy season have been renovated and cleaned up. The situation of lack of security and order has also improved significantly thanks to the efforts of the ward Fatherland Front. Thanks to the consensus and response of the people, the movements launched by the Fatherland Front have increasingly achieved many positive results.

In Long Hai town, Long Dien district, after more than a year of launching, 13 projects with a budget of more than 500 million VND have been implemented, receiving high consensus from the people. Projects such as small parks, sports fields, lighting equipment and security cameras not only contribute to eliminating black spots in the environment and security and order but also create green, clean and beautiful spaces for people to live.

During the 2019-2024 term, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels also mobilized nearly VND 1,590 billion from the funds “For the poor”, “social security”, and “relief”. This has helped the whole province completely eliminate poor and near-poor households according to national standards, and at the same time supported housing construction for 100% of poor and near-poor households that meet the conditions.

Mr. Bui Chi Thanh continues to be trusted and re-elected as Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, term VII.

With the consensus and determination of all levels of government, member organizations and all the people, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province is on the path of strong development, affirming its position in the region and the whole country.
