According to information from internet service providers in Vietnam, as of June 15, 3 out of 5 submarine optical cables connecting the Internet from Vietnam to international destinations are having problems.

Specifically, the Inter-Asia (IA) submarine cable has just discovered a power leak on the S1 branch to Singapore. At the same time, the problem on the two submarine cables connecting the Internet between Asia and the US (APG) and the Asia-Africa-Europe (AAE-1) submarine cable has not been resolved.

The failure of 3/5 of the submarine fiber optic cables connecting Vietnam to the world has greatly affected the Internet connection traffic from Vietnam to the world.

During this time, Internet users in Vietnam will have difficulty accessing websites and network services with servers located abroad. However, this problem does not affect users' access to websites and services with servers located in Vietnam.

To date, the repair schedule and the time when the fiber optic cables will be fixed have not been announced.

Network providers in Vietnam have implemented many solutions to ensure users' internet connection such as: Sharing traffic between international fiber optic cable lines; opening additional access channels; Taking advantage of fiber optic cable lines on land...

Vietnam currently has 5 international submarine cable lines: AAG (Asia - America); APG (Asia - Pacific ); SMW-3 (Southeast Asia - Middle East - Western Europe); IA (Inter-Asia) and AAE-1 (Asia - Africa - Europe).

In addition, there is a smaller fiber optic cable called TVH, only 3,367 km long, connecting Thailand, Vietnam and Hong Kong (China).

In addition to the submarine optical cables, there are still some land optical cables connecting Vietnam to the world. However, the majority of internet traffic from Vietnam to the world is transmitted through submarine optical cables.
