According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on September 3, many areas across the country will continue to have thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain, with warnings of the risk of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

In the North and the area from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh, the weather is generally showery and thunderstorms in some places. From Quang Tri to Da Nang , there are scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening, with heavy rain in some places.

Notably, the Central Highlands and the South continued to record heavy rain from early morning. The rainfall measured at Ia Broai ( Gia Lai ) was 115.6 mm, Dak Sin 1 hydroelectric dam (Lam Dong) and Thanh Bac (Tay Ninh) were both over 80 mm. In the next 24 hours, these areas are likely to have moderate to heavy rain, with some places over 100 mm, concentrated in the afternoon and evening.

It is forecasted that from Hue to the South Central Coast, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, with rainfall ranging from 10 to 30 mm, locally over 80 mm. Meteorological experts warn of the risk of heavy rain, over 90 mm/3 hours, which could cause localized flooding.

Experts advise people in mountainous areas to be aware of the risk of flash floods and landslides; low-lying areas to be on guard against flooding. Fishermen operating at sea need to closely monitor weather developments and proactively prepare safety plans.
