According to the National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting, on December 31st, Northern Vietnam will maintain cold and dry weather, with fog in the early morning and sunshine in the afternoon; mountainous areas will experience severe cold and frost.

At sea, day and night of December 31st, the northern South China Sea area (including the Hoang Sa archipelago) will experience northeasterly winds of force 6, sometimes force 7, gusting to force 8-9; the sea will be rough, with waves 3-5 meters high.

In the central South China Sea, the sea area from Quang Ngai to Binh Thuan, and the western part of the South China Sea (including the sea area west of Truong Sa), the wind will be northeast to north at force 6, gusting to force 7-8; the sea will be rough, with waves 2-4.5m high.

The central and southern areas of the South China Sea (including the Spratly Islands), and the sea area from Da Nang to Ninh Thuan will experience scattered showers and thunderstorms; tornadoes and strong gusts of wind are possible during thunderstorms.

The meteorological agency warns that on January 1, 2025, day and night, in the northern East Sea (including the Hoang Sa sea area), strong northeasterly winds of force 6 are expected, with occasional gusts of force 7 in the northeastern sea area, and gusts of force 8-9; rough seas with waves 2-4.5m high; in the sea area from Binh Dinh to Binh Thuan and the western sea area of ​​the southern East Sea (including the western sea area of ​​Truong Sa), strong northeasterly to northerly winds of force 6 are expected, with gusts of force 7-8; rough seas with waves 2-4m high.

The risk of natural disasters due to strong winds at sea is level 2. All vessels operating in these areas are at high risk of being affected by tornadoes, strong winds, and high waves.

- The highest temperature will be between 20-22 degrees Celsius.

Provinces from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien-Hue

- Cloudy, with scattered rain in the North, foggy and light mist in the early morning; scattered rain and showers in the South. North to Northwest winds, 2-3 Beaufort scale. Cold weather.

- The lowest temperature will be between 15-18 degrees Celsius.

- The highest temperature will be between 19-22 degrees Celsius.
