Huong Giang Taxi Transport Cooperative ( Bac Giang Ward) is one of the early units to convert gasoline taxis to electric taxis in the province. Sensitive to grasp the development trends and market demand, the unit boldly invested in electric vehicles from 2024. Currently, the Cooperative owns about 300 electric cars out of a total of 350 service vehicles of the unit, this number is expected to increase by the end of this year. Through actual operation, the unit has found that the electric taxi model not only brings high economic efficiency thanks to saving fuel costs and warranty policies in the early stages, but also contributes to reducing emissions and protecting the living environment. In the coming time, the Cooperative will convert 100% of gasoline vehicles to electric vehicles.

According to statistics from the Department of Construction of Bac Ninh , taxis and personal vehicles are increasingly switching to electric vehicles. Mr. Nguyen Khac Minh (Nenh ward) shared his experience: "I have been using an electric car for 2 years, each full charge can go about 450 km. Charging is very convenient because there are many charging stations in convenient areas in the area."
Not only electric cars, personal vehicles such as electric bicycles and electric motorbikes are also becoming increasingly popular. According to experts, transportation is a key sector in the national economy but is also one of the major sources of emissions (accounting for about 20% of total emissions). In order to realize the goal of sustainable development and minimize environmental pollution, on July 22, 2022, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 876/QD-TTg approving the Action Program for green energy conversion, reducing carbon and methane emissions in the transport sector, aiming for a net zero emission target by 2050.
Based on the direction of the Central Government, Bac Ninh province (old) and Bac Giang province have previously developed Implementation Plans. Accordingly, the initial steps have attracted businesses to trade and manufacture cars, motorbikes, and electric bicycles to operate in the area; planned and arranged thousands of electric battery charging points; used renewable energy in traffic control areas. On the journey to promote green development, the province has signed a cooperation agreement with Vingroup Corporation to implement the program "green transformation, green growth, sustainable development" for the period 2025 - 2030. Key areas include: Green tourism, green transportation and green lifestyle.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phuong, Head of the Department of Transport and Traffic Safety (Department of Construction), the process of converting vehicles from gasoline to electric vehicles faces many barriers, especially high initial investment costs. For example, a 30-seat diesel bus costs about 2 billion VND while an electric bus of the same type costs nearly 4 billion VND. In addition to vehicle costs, businesses also have to invest in charging station infrastructure.
Identifying energy conversion in transportation as an inevitable trend, Bac Ninh continues to implement a series of solutions to overcome difficulties. In the immediate future, it is required to speed up progress and soon launch an electric bus route connecting Kinh Bac ward - Bac Giang ward; at the same time, plan and arrange more suitable charging stations. In the long term, organize smart traffic at all bus stations and rest stops to meet green criteria; convert machinery and equipment for loading and unloading using fossil fuels to using electricity and green energy...
Along with the above solution, many opinions believe that green transportation is not only a choice of means but also a comprehensive approach in urban infrastructure planning, transport management and application of smart technology. The focus is on developing smart logistics systems, upgrading the quality of public transport and applying technology in operational management. In addition, in the new phase of urban planning, it is necessary to prioritize the development of green transport infrastructure, ensuring synchronization with modern urban infrastructure.
