Accordingly, the patient, a senior commanding officer in a Mongolian unit, suffered a complete rupture of the Achilles tendon in his left leg during training.
After being thoroughly examined and advised by the medical team of Field Hospital Level 2 No. 7, the patient expressed confidence and a desire to have surgery right at the hospital to facilitate treatment and mission command.
Because this was a case requiring expanded medical attention, Field Hospital Level 2 No. 7 reported the situation and requested permission from the mission's medical chief. After approval, the hospital's staff and doctors scheduled and proceeded with the surgery.

Dr. Tran Duc Tai, Director of Field Hospital Level 2 No. 7, was the surgeon directly in charge of the operation. After nearly an hour of focused and absolutely precise work, the surgical team successfully reconnected the two severed tendon ends using a modified Krackow suturing technique, ensuring stability, minimizing bleeding, and helping the tendon recover its physiological direction.
The entire surgery was performed under completely sterile conditions, supported by a robust anesthesia, resuscitation, and infection control system.
After surgery, the patient was transferred to the recovery room and closely monitored. To date, the patient's health is stable, the surgical wound is dry and healing well, and recovery is progressing smoothly.

This was the third surgery performed in the first month since the deployment of the Level 2 Field Hospital No. 7 to the United Nations peacekeeping mission in South Sudan.
Prior to this, the hospital had successfully performed two other surgeries, one medical transport by air; and received, examined, and treated 200 patients.
In addition, Field Hospital Level 2 No. 7 also fully participated in specialized peacekeeping training courses organized by the UNMISS mission.
