
IoT chips are one of the product groups in the strategic technology portfolio (Photo: ST).
This is an important step to orient the development of science and technology, promote innovation and enhance national competitiveness.
This portfolio includes 11 strategic technology groups with a total of 35 specific strategic technology product groups.
Specific strategic technology groups:
Artificial intelligence (AI), digital twins, and virtual/augmented reality: Vietnamese language models; virtual assistants; specialized and analytical AI; digital twins; virtual universes.
Cloud, Quantum & Big Data: Cloud computing services; quantum computing services, quantum communications; large-scale data centers.
Blockchain: Digital assets, digital currency, cryptocurrency; Blockchain network infrastructure; traceability system.
Next-generation mobile networks (5G/6G): 5G/6G radio access network equipment and solutions according to ORAN standards; 5G/6G core network equipment and solutions; high-speed IP transmission equipment and solutions.
Robots and automation: Autonomous mobile robots; industrial robots; advanced food processing systems and lines for agriculture, forestry and fisheries; post-harvest quality preservation and monitoring systems.
Semiconductor chips: Specialized chips, AI chips, IoT chips
Advanced Medicine – Biology: New generation vaccines; gene therapy (gene editing) in medicine and agriculture ; cell therapy (stem cells, immune cells)
Energy and advanced materials: Small, safe nuclear reactors; lithium-ion batteries, solid-state, fuels, electrolytes; advanced materials.
Rare earth, ocean and underground: Systems, equipment, technological solutions for reserve assessment, mining, mineral selection, extraction, and refining of rare earth; systems, technological solutions for smart geological exploration; equipment, technological solutions for deep-sea exploration and exploitation; systems, equipment, technological solutions for offshore energy exploitation.
Cybersecurity: Firewall solutions, intrusion detection and prevention; solutions to ensure security for critical infrastructure and national databases.
Aerospace and space: Low-altitude remote sensing and telecommunications satellites; ground stations and satellite control; unmanned aerial vehicles
The Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Science and Technology to preside over and coordinate with relevant ministries and ministerial-level agencies to regularly review, adjust and supplement the List of strategic technologies and strategic technology products based on socio-economic development needs.
In particular, the Ministry of Science and Technology will also coordinate with the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security to submit to the Prime Minister for approval the List of strategic technologies and separate strategic technology products serving the defense and security sectors, ensuring strong national defense and national security.
The issuance of this list demonstrates Vietnam's strategic vision in capturing and mastering advanced technologies, creating a solid foundation for sustainable development and prosperity in the digital age.
