Speaking at the program, comrade Nguyen Van Hung, member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism emphasized: Vietnamese people have a tradition of solidarity; ardent patriotism, bravery, resilience, and indomitability in fighting foreign invaders; diligence and creativity in working and building the country, have overcome countless difficulties and challenges, with the desire to survive and bring the Fatherland to new heights. Today's special art program not only performs musical works, dances, echoes profound poems, but also expresses deep gratitude to previous generations who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland... When the music plays, people's hearts will come together to join hands in solidarity to build Vietnam to become more and more powerful, prosperous, free and happy. The special art program "80 years of the journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness" is organized with that meaning.
The art program “80 years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness journey” is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Hanoi City and relevant departments, ministries and branches. With the participation of thousands of artists, thousands of extras, through grand, elaborate and emotional art performances, modern sound and light technology, the program takes the audience on a journey back to the heroic historical moments, where the path the Fatherland has traveled through appears like an immortal heroic epic.

The program consists of 3 chapters. Each chapter is a piece of the national epic – a journey carved in blood, will and steadfast belief. It is an immortal epic, honoring the generations of ancestors who fell to build the sacred foundation for an independent, unified and eternal Vietnam.
Chapter I “The Road to Independence - Reunification” brought the audience back to the arduous but heroic years of the nation. The symphony “My Fatherland” and the medley “Voluntary – Praising the Fatherland” opened the program, arousing pride and emotion. Reports and scenes “Dark Night of History”, “Long Night of Slavery”, along with the immortal songs “Footprints in the Front”, “The Internationale”, “Together We Go Red Soldiers”, “National Guard” portrayed the seething revolutionary spirit, urging millions of hearts to share the desire for independence. In particular, excerpts from President Ho Chi Minh’s Declaration of Independence echoed in the air, bringing the audience back to the historic moment of September 2, 1945….

Chapter II “Aspirations of the Fatherland” brings the breath of Vietnam today: Youthful, innovative and full of aspirations. In which, the song “Em di giu bien vang” resounds with the children’s choir, blending with the youthful rap melody of Den Vau, evoking the image of a peaceful and prosperous country. My Tam and rapper Double 2T ignite emotions through “Aspirations of Youth” affirming the spirit of dedication of today’s generation. Hoang Bach and Lamoon Diem Hang bring “Welcome to Vietnam” as a welcome to friends from all over the world to an integrated, friendly and potential Vietnam….
Chapter III “My Fatherland, Never So Beautiful” opens up a bright vision of Vietnam in the new era. The song “Strong Unity” (adapted from “Joining Hands” by Trinh Cong Son) resounds like a call for millions of Vietnamese hearts to stand together. Soobin Hoang Son brings a vibrant atmosphere with “Glory is Waiting for Us”. In particular, tens of thousands of audiences sang along to the song “Love the Smile of Vietnam”. The program ended with the work “Marching Song”, stirring up the heroic spirit, urging the entire army and people to enter a new era, building Vietnam into a “rich people, strong country, democracy, fairness, and civilization”.
