Retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue increased sharply

Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in May 2025 reached nearly VND 3,049 billion and in the first 5 months of 2025 reached more than VND 14,875 billion, an increase of over 17% over the same period last year.

According to the Provincial Statistics Office, increased consumer and tourism demand during holidays and Tet, along with the increasing number of international visitors to Lao Cai , are factors contributing to the growth of trade and services in the province since the beginning of the year.

Specifically, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in May 2025 reached nearly VND 3,049 billion, up 16.35% over the same period last year, of which retail sales of goods reached nearly VND 2,080 billion; revenue from accommodation and food services reached more than VND 580 billion; tourism revenue reached nearly VND 31 billion; other service revenue reached nearly VND 358 billion.

In the past 5 months, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue reached more than 14,875 billion VND, up 17.31% over the same period last year, of which retail sales of goods reached more than 10,171 billion VND; revenue from accommodation and food services reached 2,772.92 billion VND; tourism revenue reached 150 billion VND; other service revenue reached nearly 1,781 billion VND.
