After more than half of the term of implementing the resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels and the Resolution of the 23rd District Party Congress (term 2020-2025), Muong Ang district has achieved many important and outstanding results in all fields. The economy has developed quite well, most of the basic targets have met the Congress Resolution's targets. The total product in the district in the period of 2020 - 2024 reached 2,292.5 billion VND (an increase of 59.4% compared to 2020); the average income in 2023 reached 34.5 million VND/person (an increase of 9.2 million VND). Focusing on taking good care of 2,193.5 hectares of coffee trees, the output of coffee husk in 2023 reached over 6,000 tons, with a revenue of over 450 billion VND. Forming and developing many concentrated fruit tree planting models according to high economic value chains in a number of communes, with a total area of 509.1 hectares, output reaching 811.6 tons/year, revenue of 15 billion VND/year. The average livestock growth rate increased by 2.5%/year. The total investment capital assigned for the period 2021 - 2024 is 744,903 billion VND, allocated to 141 projects, by the end of April 2024, 520,368 billion VND had been disbursed, reaching 69.86% of the plan.
Muong Ang district has focused on leading and directing investment attraction and promotion activities associated with improving the investment and business environment; urban planning has been promptly adjusted and supplemented as a basis to attract many prestigious investors to survey, propose and implement investment projects in the district, such as: District Cultural and Spiritual Area; Biomass Power Project Cluster; Concentrated Forestry Project to create raw material areas for the Biomass Power Plant...Education , health care and social security have been directed with attention; the poverty rate has decreased by an average of 6.51% per year.
Muong Ang district recommends the Provincial People's Committee, ministries and central branches: In implementing the National Target Program on career resources to support production, allow the purchase of local breeds, according to state agencies' regulations (height, weight, waist circumference, neck circumference...) at a maximum price according to the local market price; promptly allocate capital to build an irrigation canal project from Ang Cang Lake; replant 1,100 hectares of coffee trees. Quickly deploy investment in building the Ang To Commune Mixed Industrial Cluster. Invest in electricity systems for 5 villages, 7 residential areas, with 404 households, more than 2,000 people in the district who have not yet used the national grid.
At the working session, members of the working delegation requested the district to clarify a number of contents: The work of land and forest allocation is still slow; building new rural areas; building urban planning; building community tourism areas, infrastructure for tourism; general planning for new rural areas; building cultural institutions at the grassroots and district levels; evaluating the effectiveness of macadamia planting in the area; implementing Project 06, drug prevention work in the area; training and fostering of cadres; eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households; building geographical indications for Muong Ang coffee.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Le Thanh Do, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the achievements of Muong Ang district in the past time. At the same time, he pointed out the limitations that need to be discussed and resolved in the coming time. The work of land allocation and forest allocation; new rural construction in the district has not achieved the set targets, currently there is no advanced new rural village in the district. In the coming time, the district needs to focus on restructuring agriculture, especially replanting coffee trees and citrus fruit trees; soon complete detailed urban planning; tourism development planning, trade services; pay attention to poverty reduction, social security; digital transformation... Regarding the district's recommendations, the province has recorded and submitted them to competent authorities for consideration. For projects that have investment policies, the district needs to soon complete documents and procedures for implementation; develop a specific coffee replanting project roadmap for each stage and each specific area.
Concluding the working session, Provincial Party Secretary Tran Quoc Cuong acknowledged the developments of Muong Ang in recent times, especially in urban planning and beautification; the annual poverty reduction rate is higher than the provincial average. Muong Ang district is a bright spot in terms of solidarity and unity in direction and administration. The Provincial Party Secretary hopes that in the coming time, the district will continue to promote the achieved results to successfully complete the set goals. Coordinate with businesses and investors to join hands in replanting coffee trees; pay attention to development right from the input stage. Proactively link and coordinate with specialized agencies and credit institutions at home and abroad to carry out scientific research projects on coffee varieties, deep processing methods, and post-harvest product preservation. Strengthen the work of ensuring security and order, preventing drugs in the area; pay attention to religious and ethnic affairs. Urgently plan the overall planning of the district within the province's planning. Prepare well for congresses at all levels.
Previously, the delegation of the Provincial Party Standing Committee visited the coffee growing model in Ang Nua commune; Hai An coffee production facility; and the regulating lake area of Muong Ang town.
