Revolutionary press accompanies the innovative city
On June 11, in Da Nang City, the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the City Party Committee and the City Journalists Association jointly organized a scientific conference on “100 years of revolutionary journalism accompanying the development of Da Nang City and the role of journalism in today’s life”. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Da Nang City Political School, and many journalists, experts and scientists participated.

Speaking at the workshop, journalist Le Quang A, Permanent Vice President in charge of the Da Nang Journalists Association, said that throughout the history of the revolution, the press team in the city has continuously grown, playing an important role in spreading the Party's guidelines and policies, promptly reflecting social life, discovering and encouraging many positive factors.
“In the context of digital transformation and deep integration, revolutionary journalism in general and Da Nang journalism in particular are facing the need for strong innovation to continue to maintain its role as a shock force on the ideological and cultural front,” said Mr. A.
According to Mr. A, improving the quality of information, proactively guiding public opinion, providing responsible social criticism and accompanying the government are key requirements for the press to fulfill its mission in the current period.

Sharing the same view, Mr. Vo Cong Tri, former Standing Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee, Chairman of the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Da Nang affirmed: "The press in the city always adheres to the principles and purposes, and is an active force in promoting the patriotic emulation movement, promoting the image of the homeland of Da Nang to friends at home and abroad".
At the workshop, many delegates shared in-depth analyses of the historical role of the Da Nang press in each period, from the resistance war to the modern development period. Opinions were unanimous that the press is not only a propaganda tool, but also a pioneering force in monitoring, criticizing society, and protecting the Party's ideological foundation.
One of the issues of concern is clarifying the role of the press in the face of widespread, unverified information on social media. Delegates believe that, in this context, the mainstream press needs to play a leading role in fighting against false and negative manifestations in social media.
Contribute to building smart and integrated Da Nang
Many opinions also suggested that Da Nang needs to continue to improve mechanisms and policies to support press development, invest in human resources and technology so that press agencies have the capacity to meet the requirements of the new era.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Vinh emphasized that in the context of the merger of Da Nang - Quang Nam being proposed as a major policy, the press needs to further promote its role as an information bridge, creating consensus among the people.
“A new city with a large area and diverse social components requires the press to closely follow reality, especially in remote, border and island areas, to promptly provide information and honestly reflect the lives and aspirations of the people,” said Mr. Vinh.
The workshop also raised the need to innovate journalism methods in the context of digital transformation, especially in linking journalism activities with the goal of building smart cities, digital government and digital citizens.

Delegates agreed that the press's support for reform policies and sustainable development programs not only helps spread positive information but also contributes to building social trust and promoting innovative initiatives in city governance and management.
