Ban Muong Clean Food Trading Agricultural Cooperative, Cau Hamlet, Hung Son Commune (Kim Boi) aims to build products that meet OCOP standards.
Ms. Bui Thanh Thuy, Director of Ban Muong Clean Food Agricultural Trading Cooperative, shared: "Realizing the general trend of the consumer market requiring clean, quality food with clear origin, my husband and I have nurtured the idea of developing the ham and sausage making profession, learning processing methods, and how to make some popular market dishes such as: salted chicken, handmade sausage, salted ham hocks...".
One of the key factors determining product quality is the source of raw materials. The cooperative currently has 12 members who are local people with experience in livestock production. Accordingly, the selected pig breed is a native breed, well adapted to mountainous conditions, raised on cool hillsides, not kept in closed cages. The main food is vegetables grown in the garden, corn bran, rice bran and natural herbs to help pigs stay healthy without the need for antibiotics. Thanks to regular exercise and a healthy diet, the meat is firm, fragrant, sweet and nutritious. The cooperative implements a closed production process from care to processing and packaging of products, meeting food hygiene and safety standards. Products are consumed in the district and neighboring areas.
According to statistics, on average, the cooperative supplies the market with about 3 tons of clean food each month; total revenue reaches about 150 million VND/month before deducting expenses. The price of pork leg products ranges from 140,000 - 150,000 VND/kg, salted chicken is 180,000 - 220,000 VND/chicken... The price of products may fluctuate slightly depending on the time. The cooperative creates stable jobs for over 10 workers with an income of 6 - 8 million VND/person/month.
Ms. Bui Thi Tien, Cau hamlet, Hung Son commune said: "Joining the cooperative since its early days, my family has used the mixed garden land to raise livestock and grow crops. During the livestock raising process, members of the cooperative regularly guide and share experiences to have healthy livestock. I also directly participate in the production stage to earn more income."
Ban Muong pork roll is one of the typical products of Ban Muong clean food agricultural trade cooperative, currently completing the certification dossier for 3-star OCOP products. From clean raw materials along with the secret in marinating and processing, each piece of pork roll has a rich, delicious flavor, with a natural crunchiness. When cutting the pork roll, the smooth golden outer layer covers the white pork roll filling, dotted with a little black pepper, both beautiful and attractive. Ban Muong pork roll of the cooperative is not only a traditional dish, but also a dish with the flavor of the mountains and forests, imbued with the identity of the homeland.
Comrade Bui Van Hieu, Vice Chairman of Hung Son Commune People's Committee said: "The products of Ban Muong Clean Food Agricultural Cooperative are highly appreciated by the consumer market for their design and product quality. Currently, the products are completing the procedures for certifying 3-star OCOP products. The local government hopes that the relevant agencies will continue to pay attention and create conditions for the cooperative to connect and expand the consumer market. We hope that the cooperative will strengthen the promotion and introduction of products in the market in the province and neighboring areas. Thereby, promoting cooperation, promoting development, increasing income for members, contributing to the development of the local socio -economy.
