From July 16-20, a delegation of the Vietnam Journalists Association led by Mr. Tran Trong Dung, Vice President of the Association, paid a working visit to Thailand at the invitation of the Thai Journalists Association.

The visit demonstrates the continuation of the cooperative relationship between the two associations, which is becoming increasingly effective and substantive, bringing about deeper understanding between the people of the two countries.

Speaking at the workshop “Thailand-Vietnam Media Cooperation” held at the Faculty of Communication Arts, Chulalongkorn University, on July 16, Mr. Tran Trong Dung affirmed that the press cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Thailand has been established for a long time - with Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) on Cooperation Agreements between the Thai and Vietnamese Journalists Associations over the years - and is becoming a model of press cooperation between countries in the region.

Notably, since the most recent MoU signed online between the two top leaders of the Journalists Associations of the two countries in January 2024, many diverse activities are being promoted by both associations in addition to deepening the current cooperation framework.

In particular, in 2025, the two sides will promote cooperation in professional expertise and exchange of journalist delegations, in which Vietnam has invited Thai journalist delegations to participate in cultural and sports exchanges on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.

Specifically, on June 7, the Vietnam Journalists Association invited the Thai Press Confederation (CTJ) team to Vietnam to participate in the Super Cup match of the Vietnam-Thailand Press Agency Football Tournament.

From June 18-22, the Vietnam Journalists Association invited two CTJ delegates to attend the 2025 National Press Festival and the 100th Anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.

In addition, many major Vietnamese media agencies such as Vietnam News Agency and Voice of Vietnam (VOV) have signed cooperation agreements with the Public Relations Department of Thailand (PRD) to enhance the effectiveness of foreign information exchange between the two countries.

The cooperation between the Vietnam News Agency and the Thai Public Relations Department allows both sides to annually organize delegations of reporters to each other's countries to produce information products for foreign propaganda work, exchange information, and reportages in various forms of text and television to be posted on different platforms of each side...

Expressing satisfaction with the cooperation results achieved between the two countries' press organizations in recent times, Mr. Chavarong Limpattamapani, Chairman of the National Press Council of Thailand (NPCT), affirmed that press cooperation between the two countries still has a lot of room for development, especially in the context of digital transformation in many fields and the press of the two countries is no exception and must change to adapt to new trends.

Meanwhile, Ms. Norrinee Ruangnoo, President of the Thai Journalists Association, proposed that the two associations continue to implement the contents of the 2024 MOU, including organizing training courses on operational skills in conditions of natural disasters, epidemics, etc.

Ms. Norrinee said that both Thailand and Vietnam are countries vulnerable to natural disasters such as storms, floods, and flash floods, so exchanging, sharing experiences, and training reporters on safe working skills in unusual conditions is the right and necessary direction.

During the working visit to Thailand, the delegation of the Vietnam Journalists Association also visited the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs, visited and worked with the National Broadcasting Service of Thailand (NBT), Khaosod newspaper, and CP Foods Company Limited.

Expressing his honor to receive the delegation of the Vietnam Journalists Association on July 17, Director General of the Information Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand Nikorndej Balankura warmly congratulated the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press.

Mr. Nikorndej affirmed the special relationship, many similarities and close cultural and human ties between Vietnam and Thailand, hoping that the relationship that has just been upgraded to the highest level between the two countries will not only be reflected in writing but will also bring about more practical results.

He also expressed his belief that the press organizations of the two countries will always accompany and contribute to building and fostering good relations between Thailand and Vietnam./.
