Football Asian reports that coach Thomas Frank highly values and wants to rely on Son Heung-min's leadership ability at Tottenham next season. The strategist is said to have great respect for the Spurs captain and is willing to keep him in the squad for the 2025/26 season.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy also respected Frank's wishes. TBR Football reported that MLS's LAFC had held talks about Son's future with Tottenham, who has just one year left on his contract. However, Spurs' asking price of £55 million has caused the US club to hesitate.
The £55m price tag is considered too high for a 33-year-old player like Son. However, Tottenham believe that the commercial value and influence he brings to any club is still huge.
The South Korean football icon is now expected to stay at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for another season, as the club return to the gruelling Champions League.
The problem now lies in Tottenham's attack, which is over-stocked with strikers. After adding Mohammed Kudus from West Ham and buying Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich, manager Frank has six strikers in his squad. Not to mention Yoane Wissa, Frank's former student at Brentford, who is also being sought after by Spurs.
Tottenham are considering selling Richarlison, who has attracted interest from Brazilian side Palmeiras.
