Ensuring water security and safety of dams and reservoirs

(GLO)- The People's Committee of Gia Lai province has just issued Plan No. 1203/KH-UBND on implementing Conclusion No. 36-KL/TW dated June 23, 2022 of the Politburo on ensuring water security and safety of dams and reservoirs until 2030, with a vision to 2045.

Accordingly, the plan has proposed 9 groups of tasks and solutions for implementation, including: Propagating and disseminating to raise awareness of the importance of ensuring water security and safety of dams and reservoirs in the new situation; organizing policy implementation, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of state management on ensuring water security and safety of dams and reservoirs; improving the quality of water resources planning and basic investigation and assessment of water reserves; proactively storing, regulating and distributing water resources to meet the requirements of water use for people's lives and socio-economic development; improving the quality and efficiency of management, operation and safety of dams and reservoirs; preventing and minimizing adverse impacts caused by natural disasters related to water and climate change; deploying applications of science and technology, digital transformation in ensuring water security and safety of dams and reservoirs; Strengthening environmental protection, ensuring and improving the quality of forest cover, protecting water resources, preventing pollution, degradation and depletion of water resources; promoting cooperation in ensuring water security.

In this plan, the Provincial People's Committee also assigned specific tasks and at the same time requested departments, branches, People's Committees of districts, towns, cities, relevant units and enterprises to proactively develop specific plans, identify key tasks, and allocate resources for implementation.
