Nhan Dan Newspaper launches special information campaign and interactive exhibition to celebrate 50 years of National Reunification Day

(PLVN) - On the morning of April 23, 2025, at 71 Hang Trong (Hanoi), Nhan Dan Newspaper solemnly held a ceremony to introduce a special information session and interactive exhibition to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

The event was held right on the occasion when the whole country was looking forward to the great holiday, marking the historical moment that opened the era of national independence and socialism, when the country was reunited exactly half a century ago.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Vo Thi Anh Xuan - Member of the Party Central Committee, VicePresident of the State highly appreciated Nhan Dan Newspaper for its careful and thorough preparation, organizing a special information and propaganda campaign on publications and platforms such as Nhan Dan Daily, Nhan Dan Weekend, Nhan Dan Monthly, Thoi Nay; publishing a special publication of more than 100 pages "From historical milestones to the aspiration for power"; building an electronic page "The Great Victory of Spring 1975"...

Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper Le Quoc Minh said that the communication campaign of Nhan Dan Newspaper was carefully prepared and built 6 months ago, deployed on all publications. Hundreds of reporters, editors and staff members with many trips "to the South and the North" to convey historical lessons, touching stories, valuable documents to depict sacrifice - dedication, the desire for peace - reunion. That is one of the ways for today's generation to show gratitude to those who did not spare their blood, bones, and youth to bring peace to the nation.

In order to enhance the experience for readers, Nhan Dan Newspaper has created a special information page at https://thongnhatdatnuoc.nhandan.vn. In particular, the page integrates an interactive 3D sandbox, bringing readers to the space of the ancient battlefield, with the fighting spirit of 50 years ago. This special "StoryMap" application connects the past with the present using augmented reality (VR) technology, opening a "gate" to take viewers to the exact locations that marked the feats of the previous generation.

This communication campaign was followed by an exhibition event at the newspaper campus. This was the first time a large-scale exhibition was held at a “check-in” location facing Hoan Kiem Lake, creating conditions for people and tourists to easily access the special products of Nhan Dan Newspaper.

The exhibition includes 11 enlarged photos of the front pages of Nhan Dan Newspaper published on April 30 in 1975, 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015, 2020. The exhibition also recreates historical battles. Viewers can also interact by scanning QR codes to view information about the battles via the website with novel interactive graphics.

In the exhibition space, for the first time, 3D mapping technology will be used to project the campaign vertically on Nhan Dan Newspaper. This mobile model is also expected to be brought to schools so that students can experience history lessons. What is special is that readers can also project 3D Mapping at home according to the instructions, so that each person can relive the historical moments of 50 years ago with modern projection technology.
