Nhan Dan Newspaper won the 4th Journalists and Public Opinion Cup Football Tournament

On the morning of June 14, at Viettel Sports Center (Thach Hoa Commune, Thach That District, Hanoi City), the final match of the Journalist and Public Opinion Cup Football Tournament took place between Nhan Dan Newspaper and Lao Dong Newspaper teams.

After two days of competition, from 16 teams from domestic press agencies, the two teams of Nhan Dan Newspaper and Lao Dong Newspaper entered the final match. The players contributed a high-quality match with many beautiful moves.

Despite dominating their opponents and missing many opportunities, the Nhan Dan Newspaper team could not finish the match after 50 minutes of official play. The two teams entered a penalty shootout. The Nhan Dan Newspaper team demonstrated their mettle and accuracy in their penalty kicks, winning 5-4 against the Lao Dong Newspaper team. The team was crowned champion of the 4th Journalists and Public Opinion Cup Football Tournament to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day and welcome the National Press Festival in 2025.

Attending and presenting the awards were comrades: Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association ; Thuan Huu, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, former President of the Vietnam Journalists Association; Nguyen Duc Loi, former member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association; Le Tran Nguyen Huy, Acting Editor-in-Chief of Nha Bao va Cong Luan Newspaper, and many comrades, editors-in-chief and deputy editors-in-chief of press agencies.

Speaking at the closing ceremony and award ceremony, comrade Le Quoc Minh welcomed and highly appreciated the organization of the Journalist and Public Opinion Newspaper for the 4th Journalist and Public Opinion Cup Football Tournament within the framework of the National Press Festival on this very meaningful occasion. The tournament was organized professionally and thoughtfully, and will continue to be maintained, expanded and upgraded in the coming years, not only as a sports playground, but also as a meeting place for the spirit of pure sportsmanship, solidarity, nobility and responsibility, which are also the necessary qualities of journalists in the era of digital transformation, integration and innovation.

The 4th Journalists and Public Opinion Cup Football Tournament in 2025 has ended with beautiful impressions of sportsmanship, team spirit and love for the profession of journalists. The Organizing Committee awarded the Second Prize to the Lao Dong Newspaper team and the Third Prize to the two teams of the People's Army Newspaper and the Voice of Vietnam Radio .

Mr. Le Tran Nguyen Huy, Acting Editor-in-Chief of the Newspaper Journalists and Public Opinion, presented the award to player Nguyen Van Duc (Labor Newspaper, best goalkeeper).

Ms. Tran Lan Anh, Permanent Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Journalists and Public Opinion Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee, awarded the Top Scorer Award to player Nguyen Van Trung (Life and Law Magazine).

The two teams had to decide the winner by a penalty shootout. The excellent and brave Nhan Dan Newspaper team won 5-4 against the Lao Dong Newspaper team.

The precise dive to block the penalty kick of the Nhan Dan Newspaper team's goalkeeper brought the Championship Cup to the team.

The whole team was overwhelmed with joy when they won the tournament championship.

Previously, the People's Newspaper team (yellow shirts) had a hard-fought victory over the People's Army Newspaper team with a score of 1-0 to advance to the final match.
