The political art program "Vietnam Revolutionary Press - 100 years of glory and responsibility" was directed by the Hanoi City Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee to be implemented by Hanoi Radio and Television on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Labor Cultural Palace (Hanoi) and was broadcast live on channels H1, H2, radio channels and digital platforms of the station.
The program will revive the proud history of journalists across the country. Since the historic milestone of June 21, 1925, when the Thanh Nien newspaper founded by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc published its first issue, over exactly a century, the Vietnamese revolutionary press has continuously grown, and Vietnamese journalists have affirmed their role, from "secretaries of the times" to "gatekeepers of the people", successfully completing assigned political tasks, contributing to the revolutionary cause of the nation.
Meritorious Artist Dang Duong will perform many revolutionary songs in the program.
Combining modern visual language (Hologram technology) and classical music (symphony orchestra), special songs and the participation of famous artists, the program clearly depicts the role, contribution and mission of journalists throughout the history of the nation.
Four stages one mission
Throughout the program, there will be 4 Hologram performances corresponding to 4 major stages in the 100-year journey of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism with the titles: Birth - Growth - Development - New Era.
Singer Vo Ha Tram will bring to the program moments of peace and emotion.
When developing the art program “Vietnam Revolutionary Press - 100 years of glory and responsibility”, General Director and Editor-in-Chief of Hanoi Radio and Television Nguyen Kim Khiem advocated promoting the political factor, emphasizing viewpoints and specific evidence on the historical role and contemporary responsibility of revolutionary press. Especially the responsibility of journalists is not only in the past, present but also in the future of building the country and the era of national development.
In the first part, the program recreates the "Beginning" period from the newspaper Le Paria (The Miserable) - the mouthpiece of the Colonial Union in France founded by President Ho Chi Minh, then revolutionary Nguyen Ai Quoc, and a number of progressive activists in 1922.
Under the pseudonym Nguyen Ai Quoc, he wrote many articles in French, raising his voice to fight for the right to live of colonial peoples, laying the first bricks for the ideology of revolutionary journalism.
Singer Dong Hung.
Four years later, he founded Thanh Nien newspaper - the first issue was published on June 21, 1925, the mouthpiece of the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association. Although he never considered himself a journalist, with more than 2,000 articles, more than 170 pen names and 9 newspapers founded by himself during his life of revolutionary activities, President Ho Chi Minh was the one who laid the foundation for Vietnam's revolutionary journalism.
“Growing Up” is the continuation of the program with the period when revolutionary journalism made many contributions in the war, accompanying the nation in the cause of protecting national independence, freedom and national unification when hundreds of journalists both held pens and guns to fight on the fronts.
In the 100-year history of Vietnam's revolutionary press, there have been more than 500 journalists - martyrs who have fallen while on duty. That is a number that is not only haunting, but also deeply moving for the pioneers who held pens on the front lines, choosing to face danger. They not only brought honest images and information, but also reflected and recorded history with their own lives.
The next two parts of the program, “Development” and “New Era”, highlight the achievements and contributions of pioneering journalism, arousing the potential for national development in the period of innovation and integration, marking the strong development of revolutionary journalism, from “secretary of the times” to a companion of the people and the country in the work of building, criticizing and developing the country.
Singer Huong Tram.
And in the New Era - the digital era, AI, social networks and multi-dimensional information - many questions are raised: How will journalists continue to shoulder the great responsibility in the era of national development? How to make the glory of journalism not only the past but also the future that must continue to be preserved and built.
Interwoven in the four main content parts of the program are meetings with veteran journalists such as journalist Pham Viet Long - former Chief of Office of the Ministry of Culture and Information, journalist Tran Mai Huong - former General Director of Vietnam News Agency... The guests will have emotional stories about their colleagues who fell in the war, or the mission of journalists in the cause of protecting the Fatherland.
