Thai newspaper doubts Buriram's ability to win against CAHN Club

(Dan Tri) - Before the second leg of the Southeast Asian Cup C1 final tomorrow night (May 21), Thai media pointed out the strengths of the Hanoi Police Club (CAHN), doubting Buriram United's ability to win.

The second leg of the final will take place at Chang Arena at 7:30 p.m. on May 21 in Buriram (Thailand). In theory, the Thai team has an advantage over the Hanoi Police Club. If they win against the V-League representative, Buriram United will be able to win 4 titles in the same season, setting a Thai football record.

Of these 4 titles, Buriram United won the Thai-League about 2 weeks ago. The remaining 3 finals (ASEAN C1 Cup, Thai FA Cup and Thai League Cup) will be played in the next 10 days. However, it is Buriram United's tight schedule for 3 finals in a short time that has caused concern in the Thai press.

Thailand's Siam Sport newspaper wrote: "3 finals for 3 trophies, does Buriram United have enough strength to make history in Thai football?".

"If successful, Buriram United will be the first team in Thai football history to win four titles in the same season. But whether Buriram United can achieve this goal or not, we will have to wait until the end of the three upcoming finals to have the answer," Siam Sport added.

The finals ahead for Buriram United will be the second leg of the Southeast Asian Cup C1 final on May 21 (against CAHN Club), the Thai FA Cup final on May 24 (against Muangthong United), and the Thai League Cup final on May 31 (against Lamphun Warriors).

In the first final in a series of three finals, facing CAHN Club, Buriram United did not easily win.

Thailand's leading sports daily newspaper expressed its reservations about the strength of the representative from V-League: "CAHN Club has coach Mano Polking who understands Thai football very well. This is a clear strength of this team. Mr. Polking's Vietnamese players play very enthusiastically."

"They ran and fought throughout the 90 minutes of the first leg of the final. These players are not afraid of collisions. In addition, CAHN Club has more good foreign players, making this team clearly stronger."

Also according to Siam Sport, the 2-2 draw in the first leg of the final only gave Buriram United a small advantage. That was not the decisive factor that could bring the overall victory to the home team at Chang Arena.

This newspaper analyzed: "The draw in the first leg gives Buriram United a slight advantage. However, Buriram United cannot underestimate their opponent from Vietnam, because CAHN Club is full of determination to defeat the Thai team."

"It is possible that Buriram United will have more ball control in the second leg of the final, but coach Osmar Loss's team will certainly not rush to attack, because CAHN Club has very good counter-attacking skills.

The second leg of the final will be very tense. Buriram United can only win if they can relieve the pressure, and at the same time force CAHN Club to run a lot, reducing their physical strength," are still the lines written in Siam Sport.
