On the afternoon of June 16, the People's Committee of Hue City held a ceremony to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025) with the theme "Journalists and their homeland", and awarded the 6th Hai Trieu Press Award in 2025.
Besides honoring outstanding journalistic works, the program is also a place for today's journalists to look back, express gratitude and honor the silent but intellectual contributions of Hue journalists through the ages.

According to the Organizing Committee, the 6th Hai Trieu Press Award in 2025 has selected 100 works eligible for the preliminary round of 75 authors and groups of authors from central and local news agencies and newspapers participating in a variety of genres of print, electronic, radio, television, press photos...
As a result, out of 74 works entered into the final round, the final round panel discussed, evaluated and voted to select 39 winning works to award prizes; including 3 First prizes, 8 Second prizes, 12 Third prizes and 16 Encouragement prizes.
On this occasion, 3 reporters of Thanh Nien Newspaper, Le Hoang Son, Bui Ngoc Long and Le Hoai Nhan (of the Central Coast Representative Office) received the First, Second and Encouragement prizes of the 6th Hai Trieu Press Award of Hue City in 2025.
Specifically, reporter Le Hoang Son won First Prize with the long-form work (5 episodes) "Following Journalist Hai Trieu"; reporter Bui Ngoc Long won Second Prize with the long-form work (3 episodes) "Hue - Journey to become a centrally-run city", and the work "Ambush through the night, catching red-handed the "hot spot" of illegal sand mining", by reporter Le Hoai Nhan won the Encouragement Prize.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Nam, President of the Hue City Journalists Association, said that in general, the Hai Trieu Press Awards this year have increased in quantity and quality. The topics are diverse, with many journalistic perspectives, some outstanding works, with high journalistic quality; electronic and visual newspaper works are clearly outstanding, because the authors have invested very carefully from researching topics, collecting information to the way of expressing in multiple languages and multimedia, so the competition of electronic newspaper works is stronger.
"It is worth noting that many works point out some of the existing problems and shortcomings of the locality, and offer solutions for the government to refer to and handle. Many works are positive, highlighting the strengths and new points of the city when it becomes a centrally-run city; many works introduce the people and culture of Hue, not only the beauty of a land, but also through that, promote tourism ," Ms. Nam shared.
