Lam Dong province is located in the Southern Central Highlands, a long-standing residence of ethnic minorities, of which the K'Ho people account for the largest proportion. With its own cultural identity from customs, traditional costumes, folk cultural treasures... of the K'Ho people, it has woven a unique cultural picture, which is also an invaluable resource for developing the tourism economy.

In recent times, Lam Dong province has always focused on preserving and maintaining the traditional cultural features of ethnic groups in the area to develop tourism, especially the K'Ho ethnic group. Many documents have been issued towards preserving and promoting cultural values to promote socio-economic development in the province. In particular, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 2421/QD-UBND dated November 11, 2022 on the Project to support investment in preserving each typical traditional village of ethnic minorities and mountainous areas (preserving tangible and intangible cultural values, supporting tourism development) under Project 6 "Preserving and promoting fine traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development", from investment capital of the National Target Program on Socio-economic Development of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas for the period 2021-2030. Accordingly, the province has built the K'Ho ethnic traditional village in Dung K'Si village (Da Chai commune, Lac Duong district) and the ethnic traditional cultural village in K'Long Trao village (Gung Re commune, Di Linh district). Or most recently, Lac Duong district announced the Project to build a community cultural tourism village in Dung K'no commune, build a house to preserve traditional crafts and community tourism in Dung K'no commune. All aim to preserve culture associated with tourism activities, contributing to promoting cultural values, while increasing sustainable livelihoods for local ethnic communities.

The restoration, preservation and organization of festival activities and festivals associated with the daily life and culture of ethnic minorities, especially the K'Ho people, are regularly organized to serve the development of cultural tourism, community tourism and eco-tourism to attract tourists. Every year, in addition to the festivals organized by the people themselves such as: new rice celebration, new house celebration, rain praying ceremony..., sectors and localities also actively organize traditional festivals bearing the mark of the indigenous community. Among them, the Cultural - Sports Festival of ethnic minorities in Lam Dong province is annually organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. According to Deputy Director of Lam Dong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Tran Thanh Hoai, the Festival is an opportunity to promote the traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities in the province to domestic and international friends, promoting tourism development from the cultural heritages that ethnic minority communities have preserved; thereby raising awareness of preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities in Lam Dong province. Localities in the province also organize the Cultural - Sports Festival of ethnic minorities; Gong Culture Festival; Culinary Competition of ethnic minorities... Thereby, the good cultural values imbued with the cultural identity of ethnic groups in the area are increasingly promoted, creating attractive tourism products for visitors to visit and experience.

Although there are still many difficulties and challenges, with the efforts of all levels, sectors, individuals and groups, the work of preserving and promoting the cultural identity of ethnic minorities, including the K'Ho ethnic group, associated with tourism development has achieved many positive results, receiving the consensus and support of the people of all ethnic groups in the area. Because perhaps for the local ethnic people, the greatest joy and happiness is that the culture, traditional customs and practices of their people are passed down, preserved, conserved and promoted to the future...
