Tuoi Tre Newspaper organizes workshop to promote Long Thanh - Ho Chi Minh City connection

On the afternoon of June 27, Tuoi Tre newspaper organized a workshop on "Promoting Long Thanh - Ho Chi Minh City connectivity" to discuss and propose solutions to promote inter-regional connectivity.

Long Thanh is oriented to develop into an integrated airport urban area, connecting industrial, logistics, commercial and service areas.

However, to develop into a successful airport city, building an efficient multimodal transport infrastructure system is a key factor.

Without effective connectivity, Long Thanh risks becoming just a mere transport airport.

Investors may shift to other airport cities in the region with better transport infrastructure.

If Long Thanh does not develop strongly enough to share economic functions, Ho Chi Minh City will continue to face urban overload, traffic congestion, and pollution.

Therefore, promoting the connection between Long Thanh and Ho Chi Minh City is not only a pure transportation need, but also a strategic problem of regional development, redistributing population - jobs - services in a harmonious and sustainable way.

The workshop was held with the aim of proposing strategies to complete the infrastructure and traffic system for the Long Thanh area - which is oriented to become a modern airport city.

Investing in transport connectivity not only helps to promote the potential of Long Thanh International Airport but is also a fundamental factor to build a new development center, effectively linking with urban areas in the Southern key economic region.

In addition to strategic orientation, the workshop also focused on finding specific solutions and effective coordination mechanisms to promote transport infrastructure connectivity between Long Thanh and Ho Chi Minh City.

This is an urgent requirement to solve the problem of sustainable regional development, reduce pressure on Ho Chi Minh City, and at the same time create conditions for Long Thanh to become a new growth pole, attract investment, promote trade and enhance the competitiveness of the entire Southern key economic region.

The workshop was attended by leaders of the Ministry of Construction , Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, leaders of the People's Committees of Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai and neighboring provinces, leaders of departments and branches; representatives of ACV, Logistics Association, Tourism Association, Real Estate Association, Green Economy Institute, National Institute of Architecture, banks, investment funds, multi-industry enterprises...
